I want to start by saying that the system of walking clockwise some days and counter clockwise on other days is strange and confusing. With that being said, my mother and I started on the "blue" trail that is on the right side of the parking lot because we honestly did know where we were supposed to begin. The first half of the trail was nice and it was smooth sailing, but then we get to a spot where you can go left, straight, or right and there aren't any markers to tell you which way you should go and that is when the chaotic trails started. If you go to the right it will take you across a bridge and eventually lead to a " No Trespassing" sign. If you go straight from the three way spot it will take you to another left or right trail. The trail to the right leads you to marker 11 of the green trail and the left will take you back towards the beginning. So it basically comes down to the trails starting off nice, but then half way through it turns into crisscrossing trails, dead ends, and "shortcuts" that people have made in order to find their way back to their car. If they had the trails marked more clearly and a map at the information board explaining the three different trails that we cross through I would have given it a better rating. I honestly don't have any desire to hike this trail again.

Awesome trail!! It was very exhausting, I think even more than The Ramsey Cascades trail, and 99% of it is uphill and the second mile is a steep climb. The rock at the top of the trail can be very intimidating, but it is totally worth it to climb to the top, just take your time and make sure that you have a good grip and a solid spot for your feet. The view from the top of the rock is amazing! I highly recommend this trail.

My cousin and I hiked it towards the end of June. It was the longest and most difficult 8 miles of my life, but it was worth every step and second. It is a beautiful hike with a few log bridges that cross over the stream that flows all the way down the mountains. There are some MASSIVE trees on the way, tons of beautiful flowers, and if you are lucky, you will get to see some wildlife. My cousin and I accidentally ran into a mother black bear with her two cubs on our way back down and it was both terrifying and amazing at the same time. We ended up have to take a detour through the woods and ended up finding the trail again 10 minutes later. I would recommend leaving earlier in the morning. It's a long hike and my cousin and I made didn't start until about 1pm and we barely made it to our truck just as the sun was setting. I would definitely recommend this hike, but it is very strenuous. It will test you, but please at least try it!
