Bring a lot of water, between my wife and I we had 5L of water and ran out of water with about 3 miles left. It's a steady hike which is difficult as much because of the length as the incline and elevation. We really started to feel the elevation the final half mile.

I recommend bringing at least 3L per person and try to be hydrated when you start. Also definitely bring snacks, this is probably obvious but snacks with higher carb ratio's make sense particularly with the elevation.

Having a map and using the app to track where you are is really helpful as the beginning portion after you enter the wilderness area is not super well marked in terms of like "San Jacinto Peak trail". Once you get to the camp ground the markings get a bit better.

Started from Eagle point campground, parking lot off to the left after site #33. Day use fee is $10. IT's very pretty and not too difficult. The trail is out and back, so the hardest part is the final uphill part at the end as you come back to the parking. Not all that crowded given the time of year, there were a lot of people around the swimming area down in emerald bay, but the trails weren't crowded.

Not very much foot traffic for a nice weather Sunday at midday, plenty of parking. Pretty rocky, which made the run a little dicey at times, but it’s manageable. The last bit is pretty steep and gets you up to a nice 360 degree view of the valley. There were some flowers blooming which added some nice yellow, orange and purple colors.

This is s nice relatively short hike. It’s pretty steep and is more or less constant incline. It’s a good workout which will get your heart rate up and get some burning in your legs. Wear good shoes because there’s a lot of areas where you would be susceptible to slipping.

It's an okay hike. There are nice views the whole way - very exposed and a lot of sun which I suppose isn't surprising as it's in Phoenix. The downside is it's very crowded and it's a lot of hikers that seemingly don't hike very often and aren't aware of the others hiking around them.

Beautiful hike, especially the lake at the top, but really great views most of the way. It maintains a pretty steep incline the whole way, though there are a couple stretches where it is pretty flat which are a nice respite from the incline. I had the distance at 7.6 miles out from the car and back (we parked right on the road about 20 feet from the parking area).

We left at Noon and arrived back down at 3:30 with 30-45 minutes or so spent at the top. The descent was quick as it's steep and you can jog down with minimal effort.

It was a Weekday so there was almost no traffic - in the 3.5 hours we saw 7-8 people/groups.

There is no snow or ice on the trail, as of 5-24.

We brought 3.5 liters of water for my wife and myself - and finished it right as we got back to the car. We could have used 0.5-1 liter more as it was a pretty hot day 87 in SLC and until we got to the lake and were exposed to the breeze we were sweating quite a bit.

Short and somewhat steep walk up on a well marked trail. It wasn't very crowded which surprised me because it is a holiday weekend and the weather is excellent. The views are very nice at the top. It's close to the capitol building so we stopped by there and walked around after the hike.

Steep, but not terribly difficult walk down to the beach. My wife and I were in sandals and were carrying a bag each and didn't have any problems.

Steep so it will burn the legs on the way up and makes for quite a fun run down

I prefer Kwaay Paay or South Fortuna, but it is still a nice hike. I am a very frequent trail runner through out mission trails and appreciate the Fortuna's because they aren't all that busy

Peak is amazing. Absolutely a hike I would recommend to anyone. The switchbacks make it an easy hike
