We got in past the station before 7, and it was worth it. We could explore at our own pace and brought the dog (we didn’t have a muzzle for the shuttle). The monument is so unique, super easy, and surrounded by great views.

Hands down, this was my favorite lake in the area. You can do a quick walk from Lake George or make a larger hike past a few lakes over to Emerald and catch the shuttle back. TJ offered the best views around.

Starting out from Coldwater Campground, we climbed along the stream for a few, and then the path leveled out. It was moderately busy, but it’s a very doable hike for all ages. Everyone warned us of the mosquitoes at the lake, but they weren’t too bad.

Did this with a four others, and it was awesome! We took 6 hours to summit and had the place to ourselves for the night of 5/10. Beautiful trails all the way up, great views, and a perfect sunset. VERY windy up on the top but we slept there anyway. Woke up to a great sunrise and clouds covering everything below, so it felt like a world away. Made it back down in 4.

Take at least 4 liters from Columbine up and you should be good. Be sure not to miss it on the right side of the trail before the saddle.

Pretty standard hike. Potato Chip is a San Diego icon, so I recommend checking it off the list even if the line can be 20 minutes long! Bring lots of water. It’s a climb but super wide path

Great little urban hike hidden right in Hillcrest & Bankers Hill. I try to do this every now and again. Usually lightly trafficked
