Jon Mccliment reviewed Mount San Antonio Mount Baldy Notch Trail

Took the ski hut trail up and backbone trail down. About 3 hrs to the summit and 2 hours down the backbone to the car parked on baldy Rd. Ski hut trail was fairly steady up to the hut and kept me fairly winded. I hit that point of my breathing and legs catching up about 2 miles in. After the ski hut you have to scramble around some boulders and struggle to keep the trail (had to use my phone map). After the boulders it's a steady climb to the summit. Started to feel the elevation at about 9k elevation as I summitted the last stretch (all scree and tons of loose rock). Quite a strenuous hike up the ski hut trail but a great hike nonetheless and probably easier if you have time to take more breaks (I started at 3 PM). Even though it was 102 degrees in rancho, it was a cool hike as it starts at 6k elevation and climbs to 10k. Probably was about 70 at the summit and 75-80 throughout the hike with nice breeze. Definitely recommend. Gorgonio your next...
