Very interesting hike along the base of the mountain along a washed out river bed. The Devil's hall and the stairs leading to it are quite a sight. Great for those who want a hike without much elevation gain.

Certainly a unique hike that you won't find anywhere else. The descent is long but the trail is quite pleasant - the views along the way will have all your attention. The chambers at the bottom are spectacular. Even with the lights, it is quite dark. If you're planning on taking nice pictures bring a decent flash or a camera with good low-light capabilities.

If possible, try to go during the week. The crowds aren't a deal-breaker, but you might have to maneuver around others on the path and wait a while for the elevator back up. Hiking back up gives a nice alternate view.

Great little loop on the lava beds. Many birds, reptiles, and insects to see. Path is paved, and you can venture off onto the beds themselves. For the experienced hiker you can consult the park staff about trekking to the vent itself.

Great hike with a variety of scenery. Trail starts in the desert and scrub, but by the halfway point you're in a nice forested area with plenty of shade. Great wildlife to photograph, as well!

Great view of the Organ mountains and a nice variety of terrain. Enough elevation to be a workout, but nothing that would prohibit the whole family from enjoying.

Great casual hike. Thousands of petroglyphs and a couple excavated huts to see. Only $5 for day parking. Lots of wildlife - lizards, snakes, and. even spotted a roadrunner!

Very nice, easy trail with well maintained path. As others have said, very close to the highway. Still many opportunities to see some wildlife.

Amazing views and wildlife. Like others have said, moderate trail til around the 2.5 mile mark, then becomes much harder. The transition will be quite obvious, though.

Nice hike. Elevation climb is gradual and easy to navigate. Opens up to other trails for those who want to keep going. Great forested area!
