    John Stephens reviewed Rollins Pass

I went this past weekend in April, lots of snow somewhat slushy, if you have a built viechle and are in a group, it is fun, but make sure all vehicles have winches if u go this time of year. only got 60% of way up before it became impassable.

the best parts were the giant puddles I got to drive through. with 35 tire body n suspension lift it was up to top of radiator . lots of fun and definitely plan on going again.

I took this route on the way down, from Cascade Creek went to the peak of the mountain turned around then went to goerge town. Had to cross a Iced out road, Lil sketchy, then the route down the mountain, was close call coming within inches of a sheer cliff, making it exciting as ever. Dont take a wide vehicle on this people.

I was originaly Struck by Lightning while in the Womb on this Volcano in 1989 in July, 22nd I think?? My father died in the Lookout tower and My uncle Aunt and pregnant mother had to come down a different route which is now private.

However I attempted this trail in Aug 17, My first time back to the valcano, however due to incoming storm I did not go all the way to the top, will attempt again next year.

However this was an amazing trip and very rouged and rough, just like a like it. over the last 15 years or so the road has degraded and is more treacherous then it used to be, so make sure you have a lift, but nothing a jeep cant handle.

I want to note that in various spots we encountered frees bear deposits, so do be warned, if you are taking this in the summer and have your doors off on you jeep, might be a good idea to have a some self defence

First time I did just this route as I was alone, I intend to take some of the detour trails on my next time on this trail. My photos say 2016 instead of 17, but i w3ent the day of the Eclipse.

Serius XM works the entire route, Nice cell coverage over the route.

Some cruising points, a little paved roads, plenty of rough dirt roads, and plenty of boulders to crawl over, and lots of additions trails along the way.

I stopped and checked out a waterfall along the way. on a slight detour.

Overall a very fun and enticing trail, that i plan to tackle a couple more times as I explore the additional trails the splice off.

Plan this as a day trip and possibly overnight if you plan on taking the side trail as well.

You will also Stop at the Continental Divide on Tincup Pass which is the highest point before you cruise on down to Mirror Lake.

I initially took this route as I was planning a fishing trip at Taylor Res, Wich has great deals on boats, and had tons of fun catching lots of fish, that lake is full...... no joke.

Very nice trail, some of end was not on google maps and saw signs no tresspassing so too back route to goergetown, which in a jeep was a little sketchy. As We had to get within inch of cliff a couple times.

Lots of history, and scenic views.

Advise, get Pro for this trip very limited reception.

a few spots that are tricky but mostly easily transverable. nowhere near as rocky as tincup pass to buana vista, or trail to Hanhs peak, but just as enjoyable. was usualy in 4low 4th gear due to ocassional ice n snow.

2003 TJ on 33 with lift.

I did get stuck on one portion but looking at map was not suggested route, so partner or winch suggested.
