Have been on this trail countless times over the many years, it's one my favorites. The trail can be rough at spots with lots of roots and can be slick when wet. There are many great camping spots along the way, particularly closer to the falls where you can camp by the river. The falls are one of the prettiest in GA, there's a sandy "beach" of sorts at the lagoon at the base of the falls. The water is wonderful during the blazing hot & humid summer months!

This really is a gem in Georgia! The day we went, the rain had passed and the colors were just popping! The main "path" through the canyons is along a river bed with imfamous Georgia red clay, silt, sand and other deposits. Trails to the 9 canyons are marked and vary between stream beds and regular trails. This is an easy hike, kid friendly. We even saw someone with a stroller, but the wheels became completely caked in clay. Similarly, plan on having muddy shoes! (there is a water faucet and boot scrapers at the visitors center).

This is an old favorite! Plan to wear shoes you don't mind getting wet as there are a lot of stream crossings! All in all the trail is pretty easy and well marked (bright green blazes). The lower falls has a lagoon where you can swim and cool off during the scorching Georgia summer. The upper pools are nice too, just be careful as the rocks can be quite slippery. You'll hike through hardwood and pine forests, it's a wonderful hike!

I can't say how many times I've hiked this over the years (it's great!). A pretty easy trail that winds its way along the river. At the falls, one can go up a pretty steep embankment to get to the top of the falls. Although dog friendly, getting to the top of the falls was a bit challenging with my German Shepherd. It's also a great area for camping, just be aware that black bears are in the area, so bring an Ursack or bear canister as the bears are pretty smart there.
