An amazing hike. Arguably the best mountain vista hike within an hour of Denver. The first 2.0 miles is challenging due to its elevation gain. It's pretty steep including a classic series of switchbacks straight up the hill. But the next 2.4 miles is along the ridge line and fairly moderate up and downs. And absolutely gorgeous the entire way. You can see north to Longs Pk and 360 views most of the way. I would rate this as a high moderate, just short of strenuous. A couple of notes: 1) most of this trail is above the ridge line so dress appropriately and monitor the weather carefully. 2) a flaw in alltrails is often the incorrect distance listed and this is one. From the parking lot to the Mt Stanley peak cairn is 4.4 miles each way or 8.8 miles round trip, not the 7.3 listed by alltrails.

Great hike up to Blue Lake. The hike to Blue Lake is just short of 3 miles each way and truly moderate due to a rocky trail and a few decent inclines. However, BE WARNED, that the trail map is misleading. The trail from Blue Lake to Little Blue Lake is primarily very difficult scrambling on boulders, very steep incline and a very poorly marked trail. And that portion is an additional 1+ mile each way. The total round trip to Little Blue lake is a Difficult 8.4 miles
