JILL FADDIS reviewed Goat Lake Trail

Great hike with beautiful sites along the way...waterfalls, forest, meadows of alders and wildflowers. The gravel road had potholes but I navigated it with a small car. The parking lot was full at 8:45 am on a Saturday so others started parking along the road. The trail was in great condition. We took the lower trail on the way up and the upper trail on the way back. We did not see "Elliott" the bear but did see some scat on the trail. The lake was gorgeous even though it was foggy and we could not see the mountain range. This is a very popular trail and we passed a lot of people coming up when we headed back.

Beautiful day for a nice hike. Not challenging as the climb was gradual. The Lake was pretty and the flowers were starting to pop out. Lunch on lunch rock was perfect! We had the trail almost to ourselves today.

JILL FADDIS reviewed Mt. Si and Kamikaze/Teneriffe Falls

The waterfall was definitely a rewarding site to see. Through a little sleet, rain and dry spells, we enjoyed this hike. Most of it was well marked until we missed a new (?) section that was hardly a trail. The GPS on the AllTrails app put us back on the trail when we missed it. It was also confusing how to complete the loop and get on the Tenerife Falls Trail, so we came back the way we went up on Talus Loop Trail. It was still a long, beautiful hike.

Beautiful!! Like the other reviews, the last part of the route (road) getting there is tough). A very rough road. On Tuesday, the wildfire smoke was so bad we could not see Mt. Rainier which would have been largely present. Other than that, it was wonderful! We got there early around 8:30 and there were only 2-3 cars in the parking lot. We basically had the lake and trail to ourselves. We continued (right) around the lake up to the ledge for lunch. Be sure to do that! Amazing views! The wild blueberries and huckleberries are ripe and delicious. They were all over. The hike was not difficult and at a steady climb. Would do again!
