    Jill B reviewed Stevens Trail

I loved this trail. Started at the market in Iowa Hill, (Stevens Trail East). Stay to the right where the trail forks (about 100 yards from tail head) and you’ll stay in the shade the entire way to an absolutely BEAUTIFUL swimming hole at the end. Wear good boots, this isn’t a trail for tennis shoes or flip flops. *** Now I must pay tribute to PENNY, the local dog that literally was looking out for me the whole way. I saw a brown bear (50 yards away) on the way in and she kept her eye on it, as I did. The bear seemed uninterested and we went in opposite directions.. She chased away something, rustling in the brush, on the way out. She swam after a stick while at the swimming hole. She kept bringing it back for me to throw. We hung out about an hour there, and shared beef jerky, then hiked back. Loved this dog!!! She was truly a great little companion and guide, never getting too far ahead, always checking to make sure I was coming along.

Jill B reviewed North Fork of the American River Lake Clementine Trail

I started from the dam and found a very overgrown trail (difficult to follow) that followed Lake Clementine’s edge. Keeping the lake to the left of me and following the shore, I ended up at the end of this trail, then hiked up and out on the trail road and made a huge loop back to the dam.

I did this hike with my daughter and had a wonderful time. The only difficult area is just before you get to the falls, where it becomes a steep climb. Bring a picnic lunch as the falls area is great for hanging out and playing in the water just be sure to pack your garbage back out with you.

This trail goes through caves that are a lot of fun to venture in. Rock climbers abound in this area and are very interesting to watch. The reservoir is a great place to picnic.

Leisure, picturesque walk that leads to spectacular rock formations that are so fun to venture around in. Enjoy the dark cave that you lower yourself down into, through damp boulders, to find the hidden natural spring.

Beautiful hike. Very much worth the incline work. Saw California condors as well as hawks and multitude of picturesque rock formations. Photo opportunities everywhere.

Very fun hike. The falls were not raging this time of year (September) but this allowed hikers to find their own spot along the tributaries to play in the water or eat lunch.

Spactacular views! Fairly quiet trail but nice that other hikers pass by now and then. Challenging, as it climbs in elevation quite a bit but worth the effort.

Beautiful falls at this time (late April). The trail is basically a service road so it's a very easy hike from the trail head. The road up to the trail head is very steep. I would recommend a 4x4.

The falls were beautiful. The trail was pleasant with intermittent steep grades. I hiked this in late April and the falls were really flowing. Definitely worth doing.

Amazing! These falls are beautiful and really flowing at this time (late April). The hike is steep for most of the trail and is a good cardiac workout. Your efforts are well rewarded when you see the falls.

I thought this was the most interesting loop in Bryce Canyon. The colors were a bit different than the rest of the canyon and it was also a bit more of a workout. Lots of great photo ops here with the different rock formations.
