We hiked to Junco Lake, which was breathtaking. The trail is a great workout with the most beautiful scenic views and lots of water. The downside? TONS of people. Granted, we did it the Saturday before a holiday weekend, so hopefully we just had terrible luck, but it felt like a Disneyland ride just walking among groups of people. There were a few ranger sightings and they were cleaning up the well maintained trails. This would be a gorgeous trail for a hot day, but definitely go early if you don't want to feel like a sheep being herded in! Overall we enjoyed being able to camp near the trailhead and walk in to a beautiful trail, it is worth it, but just be ready for a lot of people and a lot of leashed dogs!

This is a trail we always end up at for snowshoeing! It has a lot of snowpack and is dog friendly, an essential for a good trail. Not too many people this day, it was snowing a bit but the conditions were great otherwise. More of a trail, not too much to see through the trees and the trail is a bit hard to navigate the dog friendly parts, but good overall!

The trail is great for all moderate to low key skill levels, and getting to the top is so worth the views. It was really icy yesterday when we went, so yak traks or some kind of anti-slipping device on your shoes and maybe even hiking poles would be a great idea! Lots of dogs, lots of fun!

Such a beautiful lightly trafficked trail. Since no one is out there really, having your dog off leash was awesome. A place a dog can be a dog! Snow was great, and though the trail is not very clearly marked as far as the trail itself, if you look it up in advance, you will be fine! The trailhead is super easy to get to also!
