This is a really great trail. However listen to other reviewers and take the trail counter clockwise. I chose to take trail clockwise and spent excess time going up hills. I completed trail In 6 hours. I did stop at red cedar trail campground there are picnic tables, fire pits, and bathrooms. Brought quick snack to refuel for energy.

And completed the entire trail in 1 day (6 hours). If time was available I would have loved to spent the night at the campground. I will be back to try this trail again.

I saw several turkeys, squirrels, and birds. No snakes thank goodness.

Some trail tips take bug spray tick repellant. Bring extra water. Watch where you step on the rocks they are slippery. The trail for most part is well marked, there were a few points I had to look @ the map. The trail is marked with white diamond w a red circle. The trail does interloop with river to river trail and horse trail, just make sure to look for those white diamonds because they can be easy to miss if your looking at the beauty of the hike.

19724 Stratford Lane is address for google map directions. Small parking lot plenty of signs to follow to get you to devils prop. Unfortunately as beautiful as the rock formations & creek are. The site has been vandalized and littered. There are no trails markings. If you are in the area stop by. But I wouldn’t drive far for this one.

I went early in the morning without any issues. No one was there besides myself. Due to heavy litter and vandalism I wouldn’t hike in late evening or at nighttime.

Love this trail: started at rim rock took middle trai (Indian rock wall) 0.8 mile. descended down into lower trails. Ended up walking the beaver trail ox lot cave; a small campground is further down the trail. Some of most beautiful rock formations that I have ever seen. Came back through and took a dif trail to get back to my vehicle. Which ended up being the trail to the right that starts at rim rock.

Not sure why this trail is rated as hard. It's fairly easy walking, just watch your step I did see several snakes. The rocks can be slippery.

I usually walk through the campgrounds and sit by waterfall. I've seen numerous people jump off this waterfall or rock climb down. Wouldn't do that personally but to each their own.

One of my favorite trails in giant city. Sign says rugged I'd rate moderate: plenty of places to sit and take a break. Trail is mostly through rock overbluffs and flowers.

Very close to makanda boardwalk go ahead and stop by you won't regret.

One of the main trails that is in the park. River to river trail access. Gravel trail with scenic bluff overlooks. Several caves. Believe it's 3/4 mile.
