Beautiful walking trail the runs along the ridge of Isla del Sol and through small villages and historical sites. You can even take little side trails to reach some high points and hills on the island. Options to do this as a day trip and get dropped off at one end of the island and picked up on the other end (Challapampa to Yumani or vice versa). It's such a lovely place that you may as well stay the night and explore!

Jenny Lam reviewed The Lycian Way: Ovacik to Faralya

Trailhead was difficult to find in Ovacik and we wandered quite a bit before we could find it. Once you are on the trail though you begin ascending up from the town. Be sure to bring lots of water, sun protection, and snacks. Although it passes through some sleepy villages there wasn't really anywhere to buy such things and the wells were all dry. Luckily once we were high enough in the hillside the clouds gave us some reprieve. The trail is pretty well marked, well travelled, and cobble stone. As you descend towards Faralya you go through some forest and the terrain gets a bit rockier.

Nice short trail that is generally a loop with good variation and views. Can get very busy on summer weekends so beware that without a reservation you may not even get into the park!

Nice trail with some variation. Much of it is through the forest on a well worn path. Some ascent required along the escarpment. Great views from the edge of the escarpment. Lots of options for shortening or lengthening the route by either taking the inland forest path and/or adventure trail.

July 20, 2018. Road to the Twin lakes trailhead was clear and we were able to get there with a 4x4. No snow on the road but some tricky portions beyond Yellow Aster with large rocks and pot holes. You definitely want a high clearance vehicle, a spotter, and some patience to help navigate these parts. There was snow in the parking and camping area of Twin Lakes so we parked a down the road where it was clear. A couple of recently fallen trees from the winter on the trail but otherwise clear and we'll travelled. Parts of the trail are still covered in snow in the upper portions. Ice axe would be useful on the sloped portions, but we were also able to navigate these slowly and carefully with our trekking poles. The lookout was closed due to structural damage so we couldn't go in but the views are spectacular and worth trip.

did this hike mid week on a cloudy day. Didnt run into too many people on the ascent. Only a bit of snow as you cross the meadows but it was easy enough to find the trail. we arrived at the look out at about 1pm. There were a handful of others at the lookout a bit earlier and left. We had the lookout to ourselves for a good two hours before the next group showed up. It got fairly busy around 3pm with other hikers. On the way back down it was quite foggy and cloudy which made crossing the snowy meadow a little more challenging but since we were retracing our steps from the morning it wasn't too bad.

Gradual ascent with a soft, well trod, trail underfoot. Forested almost all of the way so it can get buggy but still nice to have the shade. Great views once you reach the lake, toilets, and shelters for lunch along the way. Interesting views of the Barrier as you ascend.

Nice walk. Most of the way is paved, gravel, sand beach, or wide dirt paths. There is very little elevation change. None the less it is a lovely walk along the beach. I'm not sure why it is listed as moderate. Maybe it is moderate if you try to climb up or down the bluffs (which you really shouldn't do as the sand is very unstable).

Great day hike. Relatively flat at first then a gradual ascent that is somewhat exposed. If you are doing this in the middle of the day bring sunscreen. Spectacular view from the top and wroth the climb. Not many hikes like this around Ontario that are so easily accessible.

Really nice, straight forward hike on a well marked trail. We went early and when we reached the top had the whole summit to ourselves for over an hour before the next hikers showed up. Amazing 360 view from the top of the valley and El Cap and Half Dome.

What an amazing and unique hike! We completed this in August 2013. It was not so much physically challenging as it was mentally challenging. Prepare for the worst rain and mud ever so that when (and if) the sunshine comes you can soak it up and dry off. Otherwise just enjoy the amazing views of the coastlines and rain forests and the crab!

Campsites that we stayed at were all really well maintained. Lots of driftwood for campfires, ample bear boxes, standard privies.
