My 13 yr old son and I parked inside DL Bliss State park, right past the pay entrance, in a small parking lot, on the left. Right across from our spot was entrance to Rubicon Trail. Left was to the lighthouse trail (north), right was to emerald Bay (south). We did the southern trail and walked along the shoreline for 1.5 hrs out and 1.5 hrs back. Ended up being about 6 miles round trip. We did stop and take pictures, climbed down to the water a few times. We made it to Parson's rock past Emerald Point and then had to turn around because we had a rafting reservation. The trail is dirt, rocks, easy to walk on. Mostly shaded. The most beautiful, scenic views of the Lake. I probably took 50 amazing photographs. There are a few subtle hills, but not strenuous. This would be a great trail to run on.

Lots of water flowing. Raging rapids. But zero trail markers once you hit desolation wilderness. People left cairns out to help guide you, but it's really every man for themselves. Lots of climbing up large slabs of rock. Lots of walking across fallen trees to get to the other side of a creek. Lots of people wandering around, lost, wondering if they're going the right way and where is the trail to lower horsetail falls...? I had my 13 yr old with me. We had a good walk/climb, but prepare to get lost!

We ran this loop twice (8.68 miles), made that hill climb twice. My Apple Watch said I climbed 190 floors/2000 feet elevation. It's leg day, whether you like it or not. Straight uphill for about a mile. After that, pretty much downhill around the rest of the loop. Loop is, 1 mile up: 3.5 miles slow decline.

Very crowded. Parking lot full. Waterfall was okay. We did a few other loops off the main trail to get away from the crowds.

Beautiful and must see. Steep downgrade first mile (and last mile is a steep uphill) but the rest is pretty flat and insanely beautiful. Gigantic sequoia trees (some of the largest in the nation). Lots to explore. One of my son's favorite hikes ever.

One of our favorites. Handicap accessible. We push our disabled daughter in her chair on this coastal path. Beautiful panoramic views. Wildlife, waves crashing, wild flowers. Picnic tables for a lunch break. Can be windy and cold, bring a jacket/sweatshirt.
