While this route shares this is an almost 4 mile hike, there are actually many off-shoot trails which made our hike longer than expected. Pretty scenery, but sometimes the moment of Zen was disrupted due to being able to hear traffic on Sprague. Going into the Deep Ravine Loop Trail was gorgeous and worth the extra time on the hike.

Best hiking yet! While certainly challenging, it’s doable - I just kept telling myself “forward is a pace!” The views are beyond spectacular and the goats at the top make it all worth it! Don’t be surprised if they get close to you or follow you. Bring water and snacks, and hiking poles come in handy. While there are many trailheads, Trail 65 appears to be the main one. I read other people’s reviews about Google not getting you to the actual trailhead and followed their advice to go to The Friends of the Scotchman site. They give great directions to the trailhead. If you want to camp before or after the hike, Huckleberry Tent and Breakfast is phenomenal!

This is one of my favorite local trials as there are so many options to make it as difficult or easy as you want. Take trails down to the golf course for something a little more challenging or stay near the top for something easier. The trails are unmarked, but ultimate you just need to head up to get to street level. There can be bike riders, hikers, and runners all on the trails, but I find people are really considerate, fabulous views along the way!

Beautiful trail with tons of shade! Green and lush throughout. Definitely good elevation on the way up, great for an awesome workout for a shorter hike.

Great trail with tons of beautiful wildflowers and birds. A couple of Ts in the road weren’t marked and it took me to a dead end. I was rewarded with a gorgeous view but still mildly irritating as it took me off course for about a half hour. Not a lot of shade so bring lots of water if doing the whole loop. Awesome workout if you go clockwise!
