The lake was worth it. The trail left a lot to be desired for me. My daughter got bored too without some of the views and waterfalls the gorge has to offer. The lake was very cool though and hiking on part of the PCT is always a fun adventure.

Really enjoyed this hike. It was a nice easy elevation gain with big rewards along the way. Between the old growth forest and the blue pools I was happy, but then to get some waterfall action on top of it, made for a happy girl. We had a 4 year old with us and she did great with the breaks. So many cool camp spots along the way too. I think we will come back and do as backpacking practice for our little

We only did the upper loop as the lower was still closed fathers day weekend. What a cool area!! The rocks were a little slick for any downhill and that felt sketch. Saw another couple really struggling. Dogs may not be the biggest fan of the suspension bridge. Really quick and easy jaunt though with BIG rewards

So I think this might have been the perfect storm to not enjoy this hike. It was raining the entire time, so the steep grade was downright scary at certain points. The fog was thick so when we did make it to the picnic tables and viewpoints there was nothing to see. The trail is in decent condition and is QUITE the workout. Really intense incline after about 1/2 mile in. It's almost worse coming down than going up. We had our small child with us and she was a trooper, but I would not recommend kids on this one. Trekking poles I am sure would have made a big difference too. Will try again one day, but if the weather isn't dry and clear....it's not really worth it

I rate this as a 4 because the waterfall makes up for it all!! The trail itself is pretty boring to and from. It is a gravel road with no real views. Fortunately there are some indicators to the falls, but not well marked. We went on a busy morning, so just follow the crowds. It can get a bit jam packed at the falls itself because it narrows down toward the falls. Still one of the best falls I have seen up close and it's worth the jaunt.

The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the mosquitoes...They were so aggressive!! We were ill prepared and didn't have spray. Luckily got some from a camper at the lake for the trek back, but they were still pretty persistent. I have no less than 70 bites. However...the lake was amazing and worth the annoyance of the bugs. We hiked probably 3/4 mile around lake to find a good private spot to eat lunch and hang out. Fish were jumping all over the place, so bring your poles. The elevation changes are very minor and the trail is great condition. Length does tucker you out near the end if doing in a day, but nothing too bad!

Such a short little hike, but oh the beauty!!! We were not brave enough to do the rope to the bottom, but plenty of people were down there so it is doable!

This one intimidated me for years, but was well worth it!!
Very unique experience with the way the trail is formed with suspension bridges and barely there railings. Kind of scary with 4 year old, but she used her listening ears and it was GREAT!
