Started at HQ. easy walk to the Sempervirens Falls. From there we took the Sequoia Trail up the hill and across the 236 to skyline to sea. That was much prettier

Totally family friendly. My 5 and 6 year old daughters completed this hike in a little over 5.5 hours. Beautiful scenery and trails. The falls were flowing great after a week of rain. Came across a turtle, banana slugs and “troll” rocks close to the falls. Great hike

Took the longest route possible I think. Started at mission gorge and Jackson. Stayed west on the RIM trail then went to the Fortuna Saddle and to The South peak and down the stairs. Nice hike. My 5 yr old completed about 6.5 miles in a little over 3 hours. Saw 1 rattlesnake around 6pm- not a very hot evening either- keep your eyes open

Really enjoyed this one. Followed the main map trail. Loose rocks on the down hill- take it slow. Saw a deer, bunnies, tadpoles... streams and mini waterfalls! My 4 and 5 year old girls liked the 4.4 mile loop. Went counter clockwise from mast. Good direction to take this hike

Beautiful! We hiked 4/9/17. Parked at the Green Valley Falls Campground off the 79- $10 parking pass. Hiked Fire Falls to Sweetwater Trail to Saddleback to Californina Riding & Hiking back to Fire Falls. Crossed the river twice (you will get wet. Its deep in some parts. We put some fallen branches & rocks down, but still got wet) we saw a beautiful deer in the meadow. The saddleback trail is hard on the ankles. Wouldn't recommend if you have knee problems. My 5 year old completed this. Its very do-able and the reward was playing in the water at the end

Nice hike. Followed the path on the main map up. Nice switchbacks. My 4 & 5 year old made it. There is a bench passed the rock pile a little further east at another point. Took the steep "short cut" on the way back... very slippery downhill. Watch out for snakes this time of year (bikers hauling butt also!)

A little over 5 miles. Decline to the falls then back up. Not much room for gathering at the fall. We went early to beat the crowd and to spend a little more time enjoying it. The fall was flowing after a week of on and off rain. You have to cross 3 streams, try not to fall in ;) Make sure you get your permit $6 good for 5 people.

We took west side to monument (to avoid paying the campground fee this weekend) to west mesa to japacha. Pretty easy. Kinda narrow going up. Wider and pretty coming down. My kids liked it

Hiked Azalea Glenn to Conejos trail to the peak. Conejos was very scenic and fun to hike. My 5 yr old little girl conquered this hike in about 5 hrs. My 3 yr old was able to do about 1/2 and 1/2 on my back. The worse part was going down the paved fire trail... knee buster for sure, not scenic... a death march back to the car! Lol

Very crowded but close to home. Steeper the first 3/4 mile then switchbacks and the second 3/4. Not a bad hike for being in the middle of a city, i prefer the mtns/trails by julian since i have kids and the tails are less crowded
