Great hike! Moderate grade for most of the hike, then flattened out for a while near the top. Enjoyed exploring the old hotel ruins - neat! Fire tower was cool as well, the top level is chained off but you can get most of the way up it.

Short scrambly bit near the top, but otherwise very easy. Lovely view from the top, and the ruins if the old hut were great for taking a break out of the wind.

Climbed Osceola and E Osceola vis the Mt Osceola trail. The grade was not too difficult on the way up to Mt Osceola.

The trail between the peaks was more difficult. The chimney between peaks was tricky.

Great views from the top of Osceola, no views from E Osceola.

Trail starts out relatively flat. The middle section is mostly stairs with a constant uphill grade. Towards the top it flattens out for the last 1/2 mile or so. One viewpoint from the top, and one outlook on the trail.

Hiked up via Caps>Link>Castle, and down Caps. Near the summit, Caps is steep and pretty rocky.

Hiked from Highland Center, overnighted at Lakes, then continued up Mt Washington the following morning. Also did Mt Pierce, Franklin, Eisenhower and Monroe. Beautiful views. Rocky and quite steep in some places.

Hiked down from Mt Washington via Tuckermans after coming up Crawford Path. Steep and rocky at the top, much easier towards the trailhead.

Pretty trail. As others have stated, the distance and elevation on here are a bit off, it's closer to 4 miles & 1000' r/t.

Great way to spend the day off a cruise ship! If you're coming in on a ship and are going to be to tight on time I'd recommend taking a taxi to to trailhead. We are in decent (but not super amazing) shape and it took us about 4 hours and 15 mins round trip, including lots of stops for photos. Lovely views from the outlooks and the top.

Short hike, pretty easy with a little bit of elevation at the end. I think this trail is a must-have for everyone visiting Big Bend - Balanced Rock is really neat!

Absolutely stunning views, one of my favorite hikes to date. Was highly recommended to me by a park ranger and it definitely didn't disappoint!
