Justin Mills reviewed Mount San Antonio (Mt. Baldy)

So I took the Village-Mt Baldy-Notch-Three T's-Ice house canyon route and let me tell you it kicked my butt, blew out my knee, and was the most amazing thing I have ever done in my life. Just Standing on Telegraph mountain looking out across the valley at Mt. Baldy and realizing that you where on that mountain just 4 hours earlier was insane. I recommend this route for anyone who wants to feel like they are on top of the world. Make sure you are in shape though. Not for the weak at heart.

I went up there last Friday and was able to do some trash clean-up and test out a graffiti removal service. We did a good job on making it look a little better. If you ever see anyone tagging, If your bigger then them say something, if not call the cops. :)

There is a video here if you wanna check it out.

I really liked this hike even though I didn't get to finish it. I was trying to run the trail and a mixture of heat and exhaustion stopped me about half-way up the mountain. I definitely want to go back but you can see the most of the valley from where I am made it to. If you have a chance try this but make sure you bring lots of water and take your time.

So I god directions to this place from using a review on yelp and google maps. I ended up at this open field that ends at a cliff at which point you much hike down the side of the cliff onto the rocky beach below. If you have issues with heights this my not be for you. If that sounds a little concerning don't worry its not that bad.

After you get to the beach if you want to get to shipwreck cove I think you go left. I went right and just hiked along the beach, its a pretty dirty beach so I think I may go back to clean up sometime. I hiked for about 45 minutes until I found a little landslide made cove which looked pretty cool. The sunset is amazing thing to see. From the beach you can see dtla, great view of Catalina Island, and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. I will definitely go back to check out the shipwreck area of the island.

this is the trail that started it all. I was 5 when I first hiked this trail and today I ran the trail. Not to steep of inclines but good all around. I think I completed the 1.3 miles in 24 mins.. wish it would have been faster..

This was a pretty decent trail, good altitude and elevation gain, distance was just over 9 miles. I did this for fun left the parking lot at 430 and we were the first on the mountain, back to the car before 10:30. I will upload my photo to my blog just-n-nature.com in a few hours if you wanna check then out.

So as you all know or will soon find out Cucamonga Canyon including Sapphire Falls has been shut down because of fire issues. However, it will re-open and when it does the first thing I would like to do is give that canyon a real good scrub down. It needs a little deep cleaning. I have teamed up with some locals in the area to organize a massive canyon clean-up day, and hopefully with the support of individuals who are caring and love nature as much as I do, continue to have smaller monthly events to keep this canyon looking the nature intended it to look. If you want to keep up with our event like are
    fb here. https://www.facebook.com/cucamongacanyon

Thanks and good luck on your hikes.

I took the big bend trail up which can get very steep at some points and a little exhausting. When I got to the top of big bend trail I went left onto the boomer ridge trail to the next intersection at which point I took the boat trail all the way out to guana point I think it's called. Got some great pictures of the sunset of three ocean and the rolling hills of laguna. However that came at a cost. No moon tonight means it was super dark on the trail, at around 8:30 I had to break out the flash light on my phone.

overall its a great hike with some spectacular views. if you feel up to it try doing a little trail running. Afterwards you will feel accomplished but oh so sore

Dont ever eat Mcdonald before attempting to run this whole trail. Thank goodness this trail has porta potties.

On a better note, great hike, great view, and one awesome looking rock.

I absolutely love this hike, everything from the hiking, swimming climbing. The one thing I despise is the trash. People if you go on this trail just take out what you take in. Dont wear shoes that you wouldnt want to wear wet, and dont wear clothes that you wouldnt want to wear or carry wet.

That being said I finally had enough and last weekend I hauled 4 trash bags full of trash out of the canyon. Had to weigh over #150 of wet clothes, shoes, bottles, cans, pizza boxes, and almost anything else you could think of. I did a good job on cleaning it up I thought but I am sure it wont last long. I might do this a few more times if anymore wants to help please let me know.

This is the most difficult but most rewarding hike that I have been on in my life. You are going to walk up and up and up ... and the mountain keeps getting farther and farther away... Once you make it to the top of the mountain though. It is so rewarding.

This was a great trail with lots of hidden gems. Make sure when you take this trail go to the water falls, of course it is a must see. On your way back take the upper loop trail. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Whenever I go out hiking I make sure to bring a bag with me just to make sure whenever possible I can leave nature a little bit better then when I came. I was suprised at how much trash I picked up off this trail but its understandable because it is a busy trail.

One big recommendation is that you need to have a 4x4 truck, if you dont rent one. It will be worth it. Also, be sure to get the insurance coverage just in case.

The hike to the falls was not that bad and like most said we went in August so the falls where not that big. We decided that we did not want to stop there so we went on the hike to Santiago Peak. Just to let you all know that this is not the easiest hike. We tracked it at about 16 miles round trip to the peak and it was a STEEP incline up. Bring lots of water, wear good shoes, and be prepared to have your socks rocked!!...

I took the roommates dog on this trail on Feb. 17th. The trail was a bit challenging but mostly towards the end where you must do some bouldering. Unfortunately when we made it to the water fall it was all dried up. I wanted to climb up to the top like some of the other people that where hanging out at the waterfall the dog was much to tied to scale a mountain.
