Jed Epler reviewed Canyon Creek Lakes Trail

Did this as a day hike today. Only went to Lower Lake...saw a bear coming down the mountain and we met eyes 40 yards away from each other and then he ran the other way. I only saw 3 people on the trail, which was surprising because I heard this is the most popular trail in this area. Takes a while to get out above the trees but once you do, the mountain views are awesome! Not really all that difficult of a hike, just a steady ascent most of the way. Took me about 5 hours, 15 miles. The waterfall and swimming hole is a great spot for a dip. Mosquitos were pretty annoying on and off.

Tough footing, definitely recommend poles. Took me 3.5 hrs to summit and am pretty avid hiker. Breathtaking views of the other Sisters at summit along with about a dozen glacial lakes. Highly recommend this one!

I did the entire loop starting on the Fern Rock Trail and then bushwacking down the gorge until I reached the LT which led me to Worlds End Rd. Then followed the blue/red trail to High Knob Rd parking lot. Probably about 7 miles total. Trail was super icy and snowy, so I would highly recommend not doing this hike in the winter unless you have proper footwear. The gorge is beautiful and I passed lots of waterfalls and cascades. I would love to return in the summer. Didn't pass a single soul the entire time. 5 hours of hiking in all.

beginning part of hike is on a dirt road but for a Pennsylvania guy I did not mind because the Sedona scenery was totally new to me! Devil's bridge has lots of people so go as early as possible! Pretty cool spot, nonetheless

easy hike and loads of petroglyphs high up on your left as you walk toward the end of hike. lots of traffic on this hike. at the end, look for the stone bowl in ground where native americans used to ground corn and such.

Vast views at the top, although be sure that you walk to the far side of the summit to look down on the valley below. hike is moderate with lots of switchbacks.

easy hike. The first third of the trail is a tad too close to the highway for my liking, but after that the noise and traffic views subside.

great view at the top and a somewhat challenging, exciting hike for most of the way. i wouldn't recommend it for anyone who doesn't consider themselves decently athletic.

SPECTACULAR imagery along the hike! So many unique rock formations and colors to gawk at. Very simple hike but you will want to be constantly stopping to take pictures and gaze at your surroundings! Valley of Fire is one of the coolest places I've ever visited.

Hiked it from 7:45-10:15a, which included some jogging. I would wear pants because trail is brushy and also rocky. I saw about 15 javelinas and a roadrunner. Nothing spectacular at the summit, but there are some decent views of Tucson along the way. It was mostly shaded.
