Nice trail that is very close to the Avon/BC resorts. I would rate this on the harder side of moderate. I actually turned around about 1/4 mile from top because I was getting winded (not acclimated, from Midwest).

Great scenery. Trails follow a creek with a few easy crossings. There is a waterfall about 1.3 miles in but hard to see. Great aspens groves and the trail is a nice mix of shaded woods and open areas. Between 0.9 and 1.2 miles in from trailhead are 2 nice open meadows bordered by aspen and pine that would be a nice spot to stop for a picnic. Great views from these areas. I didn’t see much wildlife other than birds but did spot a decent sized buck! The last 1/2 to 3/4 miles are hardest so plan to stop short if your fitness level is lower.

Nice hike. Turned around a bit before end because it was really hot and I had my 10 year old. She did great though and enjoyed all the creek crossings.

Great workout. Trail well groomed and maintained. Fairly even surfaces. Definitely a “moderate” hike. The half mile section just after the turnaround is the hardest in terms of fitness requirement. If you have doubts, don’t descend beyond the warning sign on the way out. A little crowded but people are friendly.

Nice easy hike I was able to do with my two girls ages 13 and 10. Went early in morning before the heat came. Not too many walkers/runners out. A few MTBs were out. The buttes look cool in the early morning sun. The west side was totally shaded which was nice as we were starting to heat up. There was a beehive just off the trail on the west side which the park marked with a sign which was nice to know.
