I loved this trail. I did the trail clockwise, heading through the woods for a little over a mile, along side the creek part of the way. There were two spots along the wooded path where you have to cross water but it's shallow and there are rocks in place.

The path was a bit over grown in parts but manageable.

Once you get down to the Waters edge, you can make your way across it to get all the way to the base of the falls. If you don't mind getting wet, wade right through! I managed to stay dry and sat and had a bite to eat there.

A small word of advice for non hikers on the trail .... the trail and falls are gorgeous. Keep them that way. If you pack it in....pack it out. The trash along the way wasn't bad but it was noticable. Let's keep our parks clean eh?

Highly recommend this hike. The stars are the end are the only killer haha.

I really enjoyed this hike this morning. I was on the trail by six am. The trail head can be accessed right before you drive into the park, to the left and right of the ranger station.

Heading to the left takes you through the woods and along the stone fence and meadow. Slight inclines. Heading to the right takes you along the lake first. I opted for the left since it was raining and let the trees be my umbrella!!

I saw deer, a turtle, cranes, turkeys, and ducks. And heard the frogs!!

it was a great little hike. Pretty. There are some inclines and steps on it. There are also several felled trees at the moment that have yet to be removed from the trail but there are ways around them.

I'd do this one again and would even consider camping and doing it :)

Wow this is a challanging trail for a new hiker who may be ummm slightly out of shape! This was my 12 or 13 hike. It is a little over four miles in and then back out the same way. I have to say that I am a fan of loops more than out and backs personally. This trail is also up hill the entire way. The ENTIRE way. LOL. it may be easier as sent said for the first mile and a half but it is still a graded incline. And an increase in elevation!! Waterfall at the end is the pay off :). Saw three baby bear run along side me on my way back out :) Beautiful wooded scenary, moss covered rocks and fallen wood. Pretty much a green tunnel the entire way (covered by tree leaves!)

Go early. Parking is limited and the trail gets busy. The trail is part way up a one way road. Along the way you find some old homesteads, more pull offs and views and if youre lucky, black bear (I saw five). You can walk behind the waterfall but again if it's later in the morning or day, it's going to be busy. Limits your photo ops and peaceful serenity haha.

As someone else said, not much of a hiking trail. Hiking trail to me means my shoes are going to get dirty ;) It is a paved path around the park. It does get messy due to the ducks and geese around the park as well. And it can be very buggy. Glad I sprayed bug spray before i went or the mosquitos would have had a Hay day! It would be a nice hike with kids, elderly and pets since it is paved and flat.
