This is a wonderful hike for beginners. There is a gentle low incline, beautiful foliage and creek. The waterfalls are about 500 feet after the end of the AllTrails map, to the left of the clearing. I was kept company by a TON of crickets and a wondering tagged cow. My only complaint is the cow and horse manure that is quite thick and smelly at the beginning of the trail. If you can get past that, this is a short but beautiful trail.

This is a short hike but it is incline that entire way up and there isn't shade. The views of Salt Lake City and the valley are amazing. Sunrise or sunset would be incredible.

I went into Millcreek Canyon to the Mount Oympus Pipeline trail. This is an easy, mostly shaded (although there are stretches of it without any foliage cover) 3 mile hike with just enough inclines to make it a good workout. I was on the trail by 9am and there were a lot of runners, groups of mountain bikers and several hikers. There was also a rattlesnake crossing the path about 500 feet from the entrance. He hissed, I screamed doing a backwards dance Michael Jackson would have been envious of and then we went out separate ways. Be careful out there and have fun!

This is not a 1.1 mile hike unless you take the original trail which only has drop off parking. The trail entrance by the parking area is down about a mile (look for construction and a marked crosswalk, the new entrance is off the crosswalk). At the new entrance, it is about 3.5 mile hike, plus the distance to your car. It is a lovely hike, starts off easy and then takes on elevation at the switchbacks and has a couple spots of hearty climbing over rocks. The lake is pretty and worth the effort. I suggest bugs spray and patience with traffic, especially large groups if you go on the weekend.

This is a very popular trail with a lot of families, so if you're looking for solitude, this isn't the hike for you. There are two parking areas, the larger being off the canyon road with a .50 mile walk on pavement to the trailhead and second parking area which is typically full. At the trailhead sign there are are two trails, the one to left is a more difficult terrain but they both lead to the falls. There is A LOT of traffic at the falls and to reach the top requires scaling slippery steep rock. Plan on getting wet feet if you want to get close to the falls.

This trail has a little bit off everything, beginning with an easy entrance to the trail, a gentle incline, some natural obstacles to crawl over and ending with an ascent of a shifting rock path and a bit of climbing over rocks. There was plenty of shade on the trail (2pm-5pm) and the bugs weren't exceptionally bad but there are enough to warrant bug spray. The first plateau at the waterfall is all rock, you have to hike down a narrow trail from the plateau to get to the bottom of the waterfall. It is a spacious area and the air is much cooler. If you are looking to get away from crowds, this is NOT the trail for you. I spent a lot of time stopped to let traffic coming from both directions pass. Also, a lot of children allowed to run loose or just be in the way, which I found annoying and dangerous. The dogs were better behaved. I still enjoyed this hike and would recommend it.

This is a paved road that runs right next to the freeway and it seems to be meant for bicyclists not walkers. There was A LOT (probably close to 100) bicyclists and only 2 other walkers/runners. There is NO shade, the noise from the freeway can be deafening and the air was dirty from the car exhaust.

This little hike has it all. It is easy to access off a large parking area. There is a lake at the beginning, mountain views, colorful flowers, gorgeous running and still water. Although the trail is easy, there is a gentle incline with a few challenging spots that get the heart rate up. I would highly recommend bug spray, especially if going in the evening.

I must not be as resilient at 49 years old as 4 years old because this wasn't an easy hike for me. The trail is accessed off the "Solitude Lake Trail" which is a tourist attraction and can be very busy. About the first mile is easy, a little rocky and with a gentle incline that wraps around the mountain. The scenery is breathtaking, and then the steep incline over rocks is breathtaking, and not in a good way. I would say this section, that is about .70 miles of the trail is difficult, especially in the afternoon sun. Thankfully there was some shade and big rocks to take a rest on. Once over the top, near the lake, it levels out and is beautiful. This is a hike worth doing.
