The trail itself is boring, but worth it for the photo op with the huge pumpkin

If you're looking for a good workout then do this trail; it's not the most beautiful trail in September, but has potential. I'm sure in the spring when in it's covered in flowers or at the start of winter with a little bit of snow on the ground would make this a more visually appealing hike. Lots of ups and downs making it a good, but not too strenuous of a hike - once we reached the base of the pinnacles we had to turn back because we didn't feel comfortable climbing and the trail disappeared - from the previous months rains or from the fire that seemed to have rolled through there not that long ago. As a pretty avid hiker... I would rate this as moderate

This was a nice and easy hike with lots of shade. Good for kids and beginners. Getting acclimated to the altitude change was pretty quick, not like in Big Bear. Be VERY careful climbing on the rocks and even up the hills off of the trail; the ground is very soft and the rocks are slippery. This apparently is lady bug mating season so they are swarming everywhere; very cool!. BUT!!! lots of biting flies, mosquitoes and fire ants. I don't normally get bit and I was eaten ALIVE! I have so many bites that I cant count and they even bit through my pants. Wear repellent and watch where you sit.

This is a nice place to hike, most of the walk is alongside a stream leading up to the fall. You have to do a lot of cross crossing across the water and climbing over rocks which I'm guessing is why this is rated as "moderate", aside from that I would call this an easy trail. This would also be a good place to come when you're itching to hike and it's hot outside; once you hit the stream there is a lot of shade from the trees that line the stream. Probably not the best place to bring younger kids because of all of the water crossings

I'm giving this path a 3 only because of the time of the year that I walked it; I was hoping for a more moderate hike, but it's really just a long walking path. Now that the temperature has gone up, the plants are starting to dry out and turn brown. The pictures from a couple of months ago show how beautiful the path is. I will be trying it out again next spring. This would be a great place for a very early morning run.

If you're looking for a hiking trail this is not the park to come to, but if you are after a well taken care of and very clean park then this is the place to come. The short, easy stroll to the redwoods is worth the walk; the redwoods are beautiful and the smell is intoxicating. This is a good park to bring small children to.

The view when you reach the highest peak is what you go here for; the view of the ocean and the hills covered in yellow flowers in the spring time is breathtaking. Aside from that I felt is was a rather boring trail. You only have a view of the ocean for a small portion of the trail. However, once the trail is completed there is a tunnel that goes under the street and spits you out on the beach; I take off my shoes and walk with my toes in the water the short distance back to the other parking lot. The trail is 3 stars the overall experience is 4 stars.
