Well maintained trail with plenty of room for groups. Great geology as always in this park. The farm is a great destination to take a break and eat lunch. Nice easy loop with plenty see and experience. I would recommend this hike for hikers of any ability. Also dog friendly (on leash) so bring your fur-babies along!

Today the wintertime temps in East Tennessee were around 60 degrees, so we made a quick trip to the falls this morning. A little overcast but beautiful nonetheless. Normal crowds out there but very pleasant and tons of water-flow due to so much rain lately.

James Smith reviewed Mount Cammerer via Low Gap Trail

Decided to scout this area for a possible backpack for our hiking club. I would consider this a pretty intermediate to strenuous hike, since the climb is pretty steady. Water sources are great on Low Gap, but after the AT junction conserve. Stay at a steady pace to make the trip enjoyable and stick with it. Some of the best views of the park are located at this fire tower!

Took another trip out to Middle Prong and as always love the area. We had a little hiker with our group this time and this trail is perfect to keep young children safe and occupied with plenty to see.

Did the loop again this year! This trip never disappoints. We had some friends in from Florida and this is a must see for anyone hiking in Big South Fork. We met the new Charit Lodge Manager Greg, who was gracious enough to let us use the bathrooms, before heading out to our off trail primitive campsite. Be sure to make time to visit the lodge when you can stay. Great food and company while totally disconnected. I've spent a lot of time in Big South Fork and this was the first time I encountered a momma bear and her cub. She was only about 30 feet from us when we saw her. Got to a safe distance and took a picture. She was truly amazing and a great way to end the trip.

Beautiful area and very secluded. We did not see a single sole on this hike. We decided to make it a backpacking trip for a quick weekend run and hiked into the campsite location at night. A little messy hiking in so late and even more so from the rain falling. This is a dog friendly area and our dog loved every minute of it. We hiked to Polly Branch Falls and explored several of the overlooks. It appears the only legal camping location was at the base of the gulf, by a slow moving portion of Caney Creek. However we saw plenty of sites that looked closed due to overuse. There are plenty of views and things to enjoy for the weekend. Be sure to visit the nearby Virgin Falls area, which is truly spectacular.

Awesome dayhike on a small portion of the AT. Great views along the way and especially at Charlies Bunion. We had a pretty major thunderstorm today, but that didn't slow anybody down too bad. Lots of people at the bunion and on trail. Great time of year to go, as the new spring life is returning to GSMNP.

Easy little hike with plenty of views. Waterfall, arches and wildlife. We stayed at Alum Ford Camp a short distance away and drove up to this trail. Easy trail, great for trail running too. You can add more trails to turn this into a much bigger backpacking loop, even including part of the Sheltowee Trace. Spectacular views, not quick up to full spring blooming yet, but beautiful nonetheless. Bring a camera and save these memories.
