Jacob Avery reviewed The Seward Range: Seward, Donaldson, Emmons, and Seymour Summits

Wowzers. A long journey here, 4 high peaks are incredible, but an amazing day.

Here is a bit of a Summary:
    1. Get a solid map - should be figured out by now :)
    2. Don't just keep going straight - you'll miss Seymour, or miss the other three. If you see the lean-to's with the bottles and horse area you have gone too far
    3. I should have broken these up. This was too much, even if I didn't get lost (to my own fault), it still would have been more enjoyable to break into two trips. Unless you are a glutton for punishment or an extraordinarily amazing hiker.
    4. If you take the Calkins Brook Herd Path out - TAKE A RIGHT! You'll appreciate me saying this.
    5. The Seaward Range is similar to Allen, that is the best comparison I have.
    6. People are freaking amazing. ESPECIALLY WHILE HIKING.
    7. I think this will be last hike alone.
    8. Still a fantastically amazing day, I learned so much.
    9. In actuality - Up & Up is the only way to describe the Seward Range. And I may have sung this 2-3...8 or 9 times.

Jacob Avery reviewed Street Mountain and Nye Mountain Trail

I agree with previous posts, do this in the winter. It made life much easier when following the trail. The river wasn't bad at all. There were some really amazing views on Street. It was a fantastic day hike, knocking out 2 more high peaks!

A pretty great day overall. I think I was more intimidated by these two then I should have been.

They are very well marked until the uphill lean too. REMEMBER TO TAKE THE FIRST LEFT (unmarked). Yes, there are no markers, however you can follow the footprints of others. The leaves covered some of them, just keep going straight. I did get lost a few times, but that was totally my fault (deep in thought).

So, yes, a much more pleasant day than anticipated. It was long as hell, and I am sore today, but my fantastic.

Truly the best. It will make you fall in love with the ADK 46. This was my third time, this time with a new 46 - she had a blast. Her excitement made it all worth it. Such a great time.
