Jaclyn Sara reviewed Grinnell Glacier Trail

One of the prettiest hikes I've ever done - while the boat shaves off a few miles, walking passed the first two lakes was incredibly scenic and I think worth the extra mileage. Glad I saw the entire trail.

Stunning! This trail took just a few minutes to reach the top and you are rewarded with lush plant life and rocks dripping from above. In the spring, this looked like fern gully. While it's not a long or intense hike, you should do it because the nature that awaits at the end is just spectacular.

Even if you don't make it across the scary stretch (with a significant fear of heights I stayed off that part), this hike is well worth it. The climb up is short but scenic and offers unique views of the canyon. Go early before the crowds and the heat and this hike will be much less strenuous for you.

AMAZING! My favorite hike in all of Zion. I'd go back just to do this one again. The views were better than Angel's Landing and the length of the hike more scenic. A must do if you come to Zion.

The first and the third emerald pools were my favorite. The third pool is impressive mostly because the height of the small waterfall that feeds the pool. I enjoyed this hike most at the end of the day around dusk. Walking down from the third pool gave impressive views of the canyon and the sun setting.

Gorgeous - both up Gaviota peak trail and down trespass trail. Highly recommended, especially in the early morning when there is some cloud cover.

The matilija canyon area is gorgeous. So nice to have such raw nature and big mountains near Ojai. The waterfall isn't until the upper matilija campground area (we only made it to middle matilija, which was 6+ miles). That said, the creek was full and running and made for nice scenery. Not much elevation gain and not too strenuous but nice for a weekend afternoon outside. The low point of the trail is that it is overgrown in some areas and there are lots of plants that look like poison oak (wearing long pants on this one is probably best). Would definitely come back but not an all-time favorite given the great hiking in the carp/sb/Ojai area.
