Nice, easy walk. I wouldn't classify it as a hike. We only did this one, because it's the only trail that allows dogs. (And that's too bad!).
It took a few minutes to find the trailhead, but if you go directly to the Visitor Center, it's right behind it.....by the shuttle stop. You actually have to walk passed the shuttle stop and then you'll see signs for the trail.
The trail is nice and relaxing once you pass the campground. The Virgin River follows the path or vice versa. Although there were several people on the trail, it wasn't too much. Several walkers. A few bicyclists. A few other dogs. All good.
From La Quinta to the end of the trail and back was 6.1 miles. A good morning walk indeed!

We loved this hike. Saw a few more people on this hike (than yesterday at Cockscomb), but was still surprised there weren't more people on the trail.
Gorgeous views as you hike around the loop. Easy to follow the path and the stone pylons marking the trail.
We started at 730am and we're finished by 915am. According to the app, we did 4.4 miles in 1:19 (moving time). Stopped for photos along the way and water time for Bella the boxer.
LEVEL: I would give this a 4 out of 10 (10 being the hardest). It's not too tough, but lots of small ups and downs over rocks and stones. I only twisted my ankle twice on this one. I guess that would be a 2 on the ankle scale.
Would do this hike again in a heartbeat.
(Parking lot has machine for pass.)

Not too many locals know this trail by name and we had difficulty finding the trailhead and parking. We decided to park in the Aerie Trail parking lot and that was perfect. ($5 Red Rock pass available in parking lot at the machine.). We started, very briefly, on the Aerie trail, but it soon joined Cockscomb. From there, we just followed the signs until about the 5 mile mark...then we took the Doe trail back to the car. That was the final stretch.
A great trail and very well marked. Can't go wrong. Our (leashed) dog led the way the entire time. Can't get lost. Good signage everywhere.
There were a few friendly bikers and joggers, but we were amazed how few people were on the trail. It was virtually ours. We started the trail at 7:20am so we had some shade for the first 30 minutes or so. After that, mostly sun. Wear sunblock.
Great views throughout. Saw a few rabbits and lizards and lots of flowers and flowering cactus. No water anywhere so make sure to bring one liter per person or animal.
Lots of small rocks to stumble on so mind the path. We both twisted our ankles several times, but not badly.
LEVEL: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the hardest), I would rate this trail a 3.5. It would have received a 3, but the last mile is a climb in elevation and was a wee bit tougher than the rest. Still not a tough hike. We measured 5.8 miles and did it in 2:15. However, according to this app, moving time was 1:48. That's not bad. We were stopping to take photos and having water breaks with the dog.
    GREAT TRAIL.

A terrific 2-hour hike. I took the Ranch House trail to the Jack Creek Meadow loop. Then took the East Ridge path to Creek Crossing (no creek) back to the parking lot. 6.64 miles. 780 calories. It wasn't EASY like some say. While much of the trail is level, there are certainly a few inclines that make you work up a tough sweat. However, it's a beautiful ranch, great paths, and some tremendous views (off East Ridge). It's a very peaceful hike, too. Several dirt bikers, but they were all very friendly and shared the path well with others. I hope to go back next weekend with friends. (The boxer loved it, too.) I was surprised there weren't more people there considering the jam-packed parking lot, but there are a lot of trails in Daley Ranch.
