Super scenic walk around the lake with a spur that leads to beautiful waterfalls created by the lake spill off. We saw a beaver and lots of chipmunks as well as lots of birds. Great for families and photographers.

Not really a "hike", you can see the falls from the parking area and walk down a series of steps/slope to get a better look, but a must stop and see if you are in the area. If you go to Vogel State park this is super close and easy side trip! I was recovering from a sprained ankle so this was perfect for us. There are also 2 other falls within 30 minutes so we made a loop of all 3 short trails (High Shoals and the falls at Lake Tralyhata at Vogel). Very easy to find. Great for families, the elderly or inured hikers :)

This is a great short hike. Far surpassed my expectations. This hike is straight down for 1.2 miles with a spur off to the left to see the first part of the waterfall, looks like a killer swimming hole. Backtrack and continue about 100 yards to the second spur on the left for the real payoff. The falls cut through a rock and are just magnificent. The vegetation here is protected by law as well as very slippery so I would advise you to stay near the viewing platform and not explore too much at the base of the falls for your own safety. Your heart will be pumping on the climb back out to the car. Trailhead was well marked and easy to find, but I would recommended taking a vehicle with higher clearance as you must cross a creek to get up the forest service road to the trail head. We passed a man who had left his car at the bottom because he wouldn't make it, then encountered a bear and her cub on the FS road and was hightailing it back to his car! We were not lucky enough to see them though.

Took an unplanned hike here after visiting rock city and point park. Great vistas. Got to socialize with several climbers who were ascending the bluff at various spots along the trail. Hiked from point park down to sunset rock and back. (About 2.5 miles). Great side trip after visiting Rock City.

Did an unplanned hike to Sunset Rock from a trail head at Point Park after some sightseeing. About 2 miles along the side of the mountain, I believe this little trail is used primarily for rock climbers. Very scenic. easy little trail. I will try to remember the trail that connects to this and come back and include it in the review.

What a fun little trail! Haven't done so many creek crossings in a while. Definitely a wet foot hike. I wore my waterproof leathers after reading how many crossings there were but next time I think some Keen sandals or other water shoes would be a better choice. The first half mile of the trail was quite littered with trash due to the accessibility of several little swimming holes but after you cross at the convergence of the two creeks it was quite nice. There were many places where a novice hiker can easily lose the trail so I would recommend to go with an experienced hiker for a better experience. The first set of falls is gorgeous. Great little gem of a hike.

One of my favorite spots to take company or first time hikers in the metro area. I usually make a loop by combining the red, blue and white trails back to the parking lot. Great wildflowers and snakes and a good challenge scrambling over rocks. Need to go back and tackle the yellow trail sometime soon.

If you are any kind of serious hiker this is a mecca that you must visit as the southern terminus of the AT. There is nothing like watching weary souls pop champagne at the end of their long trek. You can take this hike in many directions as the Benton Mckaye intersects nearby. Parking lot is easy to find and all the trails are pretty well marked. Extremely pleasant in the fall and I go back every year.
