Rewarding but steep hike. The scenery was beautiful. I went to the third reservoir and came back some diets roads for a total of 9 miles. it was an excellent day.

it is true that because of the steepness and length of the trail it isn't the best suited for children unless you want to carry the youngest ones out. however this trail and area are one of my favorites in the park. it can offer solitude and plenty of thought provoking scenery. don't stop at the top falls make a day of it pack a lunch and enjoy the trail for all its worth you won't regret it!

We have hiked this trail from the ridge, the creek, and Allegheny trail. The views and scenery can't be beat from the meadows to the pines to the hardwoods just fantastic all around. Seneca creek can get really crowded in the summer but there are plenty of campsites on the surrounding trails.
Some trails are steep and narrow while the trail along Seneca creek is wide and sloping. Go when the leaves are turning you won't regret it!! We didn't see much wildlife but there are tracks and scat everywhere.

Hit this trail on the way out of the park FANTASTIC as always. it was very windy but the views will turn your gaze into a stare!
Short and not steep perfect for the whole family. The parking lot is small and on a curve but you can park at the stony man overlook just north of the trailhead.

used the dark hollow trail for a starting point for back country camping. we were there early and I enjoyed the falls more than normal as there were very few people. there was some ice on the surrounding rocks that added to the aura as well.

Did the full loop up mill mountain and around to Big Schloss. A fairly secluded hike with not a whole lot of water but some great dry camping sites. The view from Big Schloss is definitely worth your time. Pretty steep incline any trail you choose but my daughters(8,7&5) did it without much hassle.

FANTASTIC hike well rather stroll. perfect spot for lunch or just some solitude with your feet relaxing in a pool of water. combine this with rose river and dark hollow for a decent day of hiking.

did this hike in a loop with rose river falls and the horse trail. as always lots of people. because this is one of the most used trails in the park it is extremely well maintained.

this trail used to be secluded and quiet but now it is well used. the while is still a pleasant one though. if you want solitude on a weekend pick another trail.

mostly easy hikes, good views of the river and nature. some trails are extremely crowded most times but others will almost always provide some solitude. dogs are allowed on a leash, and don't forget the park entrance fee.

marvelous falls and easy hiking. When leaving the visitors center go over the bridge for the best views. Personally we enjoyed watching from the bottom but that trail is the hardest trail for the falls. Lots of roots, rocks and some water. there were plenty of people there but not to many you couldn't get around.

As was already mentioned the trail is usually full of people. The real treat is in the winter as the falls is frozen over and very few people venture out.. for summertime hiking continue over the fire road bridge at the bottom and make a left as soon as you cross the bridge there will be few people and a fantastic stroll beside the stream down into a lush valley.

Have not been here in the winter but we hiked up the lift trail and all over and around the ski trails on the way down. They say there is a cave towards the top but we didn't see it. It was a fun day of hiking. Good views from the top!

nice hike under the green canopy with the reward of a waterfall at the bottom. we usually bring lunch and play in the pool at the bottom. It has plenty of shallows. if you feel the itch, climb or around the the middle of the falls, you will find a smaller hole the you can slide into!!

fantastic hike with even better views! go the whole way to the top and bring lunch relax and watch nature come alive

perfect for a stroll whether to cool down from a strenuos hike or the complete the day. Go at different times of the year for as many different sights. There are usually plenty of deer here as well

two waterfalls but the best view is from the bottom. The hike has plenty of steps and can be steep in places but is wide and very well maintained. the trail is also one of the most used trails in the park due to its shortness and proximity to big meadows. If you are up for less people and better views continue a short distance down the fire road then make a left onto rose river trail it is a circuit that will bring you back to your vehicle by way of the drive.

Good easy trail for everybody. There is history, entertainers, nature and plenty more on this walk. can be conjested at times but still worth the time

Good leisure trail for the family, as with any battlefield from the war between the stated read up about it and educate your family as you go. It will be a rewarding experience

where do I start? This hike was the best the views the goats It is a fairly east hike that is very rewarding. We had clear skies till a storm rolled in from the west. It got a bit hairy before we made it down to our car but watching the clouds from above, then they hit the mountain and had to roll up and over was something to write home about.

Fantastic hike, marvelous views in areas and green canopy in others. As with most hikes slow down and enjoy nature you will be rewarded everytime. The views to the east are the best it looks like wilderness. If you are extrememly afraid of heights I would not recommend this hike though as it utilizes cables and ladders. make it a short day trip and hike the whle way to the mile high bridge. You wont regret it
