In and of itself, this trail is somewhat unremarkable. To clarify, the forest views are beautiful. Though for the big payoff views, you would either continue from this trail to the SSW to check out the Palisades Ridge, or head ESE to Noble Knob. Both of those views are five stars!

I consider this more of a connector trail rather than a destination trail. However, when the weather gets hot this cooler trail makes for a nice break from the heat with a waterfall reward!

On the whole, this is one of my favorite parts of Washington State. I highly recommend it.

Nice hike. Be prepared for wind and Sun exposure. Be sure to bring one liter of water minimum per person.

This is a great park and the hike to the lighthouse is enjoyable. That said, it seems like many people get out on this spit of land without proper gear. Be ready for significant changes in the prevailing winds in the afternoon. Protective clothing for wind and Sun exposure are pretty important for the strip. I would specifically not recommend this trip for small children. Several boys in a Cub Scout Group that we were a part of ended up calling this trip "the death hike".

Considering this park is in the city, it is unusually wonderful for a Puget Sound waterfront location. I also agree that, considering its location, it's really not that crowded.

This is a nice neighborhood resource, though not good enough to think of as a destination. It's a great place to bring the family.

This is the jump-off point to access Rattlesnake Mountain NW. I did this two days ago to finish all the Issaquah Alps peaks. Along with Taylor Mountain, this has to be one of the least interesting areas of the Issaquah Alps. On the other hand, this is one of the endpoints for Rattlesnake Ridge, which is great.

Another training trail close to town. This one actually has a territorial view or two to enjoy. I think this is one of the better parts of the Park.

I did not do the Holder trail as others seem to have done. Instead, I started at an unmarked trailhead that is just across the highway from the East Tiger Mountain trailhead. From there, you can make it to the Taylor mountain peak by way of old logging roads. I want to keep this positive, but honestly this road walk was one of the least remarkable hikes I've taken in a long time. To top it off, there was no view at the top.

This is a solid addition to your off-season training as most of the park's trails are below the snow line. A month ago I used this to kick off a 13 mile loop with 7 peaks... wonderful!

This is an easy trail, with very simple access from any part of the Puget Sound. There isn't a lot to see, so it's not a top choice as a destination during peak hiking season. On the other hand, it has great four-season access. Note: this is not a terribly challenging hike.

Like most trails, this one has its strengths. It also has its weaknesses. If you are riding a bike, this is an outstanding trail. If you are walking, it is paved which makes it a little hard on the joints. In addition, and because you're walking along a road it's completely boring for a walk.

This 10.2 mile end-to-end Ridge hike really is a great trip if you can avoid the crowds. We started at sunrise (only 5 cars in the parking lot). By the time we got back there was parking "spill out" of at least 30 cars outside the parking lot. This place may rival Disneyland for crowds. Yikes.

Take home message: get there early.

Even though I shouldn't be surprised, I didn't expect the snow that we encountered. Most of the South side of the ridge (and the primary ascent) had about 4-5 inches of packed snow starting at 2,300 feet. At the top and for about 1 mile the snow was more like 1.5 foot. There had been enough foot traffic before us that a snow trail was laid out for the entire length. The snow was with us until we dropped through 2,400 feet on the North side.
