Harrison Moss reviewed Black Mountain via Baden-Powell Trail

Great, fun, challenging hike with beautiful views near the top. After a couple of miles of steady but smooth uphill walking, this hike becomes a climb. My friend is a strong hiker, but a so so climber, and it took us over an hour to clamber over boulders, roots, and rocks for the 4th mile. It turned out to be totally worth it with stunning views a mile from the top. If you’re a strong climber, you’ll really enjoy this, but if your experience is limits to hiking, you might consider turning back.

This hike is basically a steady hike up and down a fire road, and mostly tree protected. It is a little boring as far as the terrain and scenery. Extend the hike by turning left at the beach and walking a mile to Alamere falls.
