Probably the easiest trail around Vail. Very moderate incline and rewarding, beautiful views. If you're looking for an easy, pretty hike while visiting, I would pick this over Booth Falls! This trail is normally extremely crowded, but I went on a cloudy Friday evening around 5 PM, and there was only 1 other car at the trailhead. Please don't feel the wildlife and no there is no designated picnic area at the bottom.

Beautiful trail that's easily accessible from town and probably the most popular hike in Vail. Hiked this with my dog (reminder there is a leash law in effect in Eagles Nest Wilderness) at 8 AM on a Wednesday morning, parking was plenty, but we saw quite a few people on the trail. Parking lot was full by the time we made it down around 10:30 AM. Took about 1h 20m to make it to the falls, nice and shady on our way up, but could feel the sun beating down on us during the descent. There are some stream crossings where waterproof boots would come in handy. Take lots of water if you go in the afternoon - it can get pretty hot.

This trail doesn't get very good until 2 miles in. No parking is allowed at the actual trailhead or on the street, so you must park at the Beaver Creek parking structure. From there it's about a mile walk following a paved road to the actual trailhead. From the trailhead, it's another mile before it starts to feel more secluded and away from the resort. Nice and shady in the morning, but still required 1L+ of water. Lots of little stream crossings and access to the creek for my dog to catch a drink of water and cool off. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to do this trail again unless I was staying IN Beaver Creek. Takes too long to become secluded. Took about 2h 30m from the parking structure and back and had the lake to myself around 9:50 AM on a Thursday.
