A great, easy-going hike to some lovely viewpoints. I used this trail as an acclimatization hike to prepare for Wheeler the following day, and I think it helped tremendously. Stella lake is very striking at the base of Wheeler. Teresa lake is quite low and a little paltry in comparison, but still a nice destination. I added on the Bristlecone grove to increase the length a little. The walk between points of interest is easy and well signed.

A great, challenging hike to an unbelievably scenic summit. Windy as heck on the exposed portions of the trail; bring a windbreaker and layers. The first two miles go down quick and easy, but once you get through the timber line it is slow and arduous. Got a touch of altitude sickness at about 12500 feet (I'm a low elevation desert-dweller here) but staying hydrated, taking frequent breaks, and nibbling on some snacks helped tremendously. I used poles for the last mile, and was glad to have them.

Definitely a winner! A beautiful, isolated peak with a slickrock base that is very fun to explore. You'll probably share this hike with very few people, if you see anyone at all. I hiked from Willow Springs which made it a longer hike, but don't let that deter you; Rocky Gap Road is pretty easy (if a bit boring) to walk and the time goes by quickly. I did this hike earlier in the year; I would not recommend attempting this hike during the hotter months.

A decent trail, but nothing really spectacular. The views of the surrounding peaks are nice. Don't let the steep hill at the beginning intimidate you--aside from that, the trail is nicely graded and a very pleasant, fairly level walk. It's a very sunny trail, so plan and pack accordingly. A nice and quiet trail, but nothing I'd take visitors on.

A nice hike to bag a nice, scenic peak. The fork of the offshoot trail was a bit hard to find initially because I was looking in the wrong place, but the trail to the peak is well-defined. Just a spectacular view from the top, even on muggy/hazy days. For purists, the scenic rocky outcrop where you take your pictures and sign the register is not actually the summit; the little hump just beyond that is the true summit, but just about 10 feet higher so it's up to you to decide if it's worth the extra effort (the view at the actual peak is spoiled by lots and lots of tall trees).

Really nice hike, perfect for a morning outing before it gets hot. The trail itself is quiet and well maintained. I started from the Upper trailhead. The Upper trail is nicely shaded and really beautiful. Once you get to the Lower part of the loop, the views are still lovely and the trees are green, but the long dirt road gets a little boring to walk on. Saw two mule deer (does), a coyote, good-sized Palmer's Chipmunks, and tons of birds including several woodpeckers. All in all, a great little hike.

This is a great option for an evening hike now that the weather is warming up. Never too busy, a nice trail that isn't too tough but is variable enough to be interesting. Climbing to the top of the knoll gives a surprisingly good view for such a little hill. Doing the loop and going around the back of the knoll is great, green and cool and with a little bit of water in the stream from the recent rains. Definitely definitely recommend for a nice peaceful hike.

Great trail, basically a walking tour of Red Rock. I've done it clockwise and counterclockwise and don't really have a a preference on which is the "better" way to travel the loop. Clockwise gets the "boring" Jeep trail out of the way and leaves the scenic Calico portion for the end. Counterclockwise gives you a great scenic start and ends with an easier return on the Jeep trail. Can't go wrong either way. Pretty easy to follow, can get a little hard to find the trail when it intersects with the trailheads but nothing too frustrating. Definitely recommend waiting for cooler weather to do this hike.

As others have said, it's a well-defined trail up a beautiful part of the Spring Mountains. I stopped for a break here on my way down from Mummy Mountain. The trail is well used but I've never seen it get "busy" like nearby trails do. The springs are in a nice shady portion of the trail and were still trickling; the water is cool and clear, but you'll probably want to filter it just to be safe.

Led a group of co-workers for a little fun weekend outing; all skill- and endurance levels were represented, and we all got up to the top just fine. The trail gets busy and some parts are in open sun, so I recommend an early start. It's a beautiful trail with a great viewpoint.

Always a lovely trail, easy to follow and straight-forward. It's still cold enough to freeze the falls, so it was a spectacular column of ice.

The last half mile or so to the peak is a real kicker, but the otherwise easy, meandering trail and phenomenal view at the top makes this hike more than worth it. Don't forget to sign the summit register at the top!

H Andress reviewed Bonanza Peak via Spring Mountain Divide Trail

Very scenic, with a surprising amount of lookout points all along the trail considering how well-forested it is. Well known for its switchbacks, but nothing that can't be overcome by taking it slow and steady. Not particularly difficult to find the turn-off to leave the Divide Trail and reach the peak. Definitely a recommended hike!

Easy to follow trail and spectacular views. If you get an early start, you might get to see mule deer grazing near the path. The snow and ice is mostly melted, with only a nicely-compacted part to cross over near the beginning of the climb and a couple patches near the saddle between Griffith and the trail to Charleston, but those are easy to avoid or walk on. Happy hiking, this one will not disappoint!
