Guy Chavez reviewed A1A 2 Mile Loop Trail

Being from out of town and staying on the beach our choice for running were limited. We ran up an down A1A, and also this trail. I really liked the trail, it is bordered by a greenbelt all the way around, I thought it was very nice (green) some nice trees, and some flowering bushes. Yes some noisy traffic in some spots (just block it out). Overall I would recommend it, especially if your from out of town and looking for a nice and safe place to run.

I ran this trail as part of the "Bergen Peak Half Marathon". I loved this race- it was hard but awesome, lots of variety in terrain, and great views. If you like trail racing, sign up for next year. Check out the Evergreen Trail Racing Series. they have 4 races. I think I'm signing up for the series next year.

This trail is ok, nothing to exciting. Also I don't know if I would rate it "moderate" it seems to be more comparable to other "easy" trails. There are a couple of short hills but not that steep, the rest is relatively flat. There are a couple of views of the lake, but not as many as you would expect. To re-iterate another hikers comment: Free parking if you start at vista point.

Nice easy trail, I like running this on a recovery day or to loosen up during your tapering time before a race.

Here is the link to the full trail system at miller park. AllTrails does not have the listing for the Purple and Gold trail.

If you start directly across from the Core Plaza and stay on the outer loop until you meetup with the Purple loop, then run Purple, Gold, Green and Red (red is flat and easy). The entire run will provide a decent, not too difficult workout. Finish it off with an accent up Challenge hill. Also on the Northeast edge of the Gold trail you can take the pedestrian bridge across to "Ridgeline Open Space" trails (see AllTrails listing). After your run dip your head in the fountains and lay in the grass and relax a while.

Ran the loop today with the addition of the M to N loop on the far East side. Going clockwise, it's a gnarly little hill coming back up. Also, if your looking far a longer run at the bottom of the M to N loop there is a pedestrian bridge that connects to the Phillip S Miller park trails. There is a trail race " Castle Rock Trail Festival" that will include this trail - Oct 7. Good trail for training and easy to get to.
