Very nice hike. Trailhead is at rest are off of Blueridge Parkway. There used to be facilities there but Govt shut them down. camp/RV site was closed for a bit, looks to be back open. Trail starts to right end of lot and is paved for fist 400 ft, you pass old ampitheather which must have been something back it it's day, cross a meadow and campground and facilities (including potable water) is the the left, then hike starts. I'd recommend making counter clockwise loop otherwise you are climbing a good bit if rocks stairs on way out. Stream flows to left of trail most of way with a few footbridges to cross. then falls are located in rhododendron hollow. stunning!!! Great hike and relatively easy if you are in shape. I am not, lots of stops on hike out.

Great hike along scenic trail next to the river. I was surprised that there was not more damage to the trail from tourists as the parking lot was full during Memorial Day weekend. This would be a great route if you wanted to summit Chocorua from this side. The Falls were rather small and I was surprised because you would figure after The Rains of April and May the water would be abundant. Still a beautiful finish at The Falls.

Note to you tourists and part-time hikers: You are not supposed to start fires in undesignated areas and if you eat a Mounds bar take your wrapper with you!

Awesome hike. be advised, there are not many flat areas on trail. You are climbing through most of 8 miles. I took my wife who has minimal hiking experience and she was not able to summit. I did not want to leaver her and summit. we will be back once she gains more experience!
