Parking for and the start of this hike are next to the Koke'e State Park sign, about 1.3 miles south of the Koke'e museum. The first 0.8 miles is on an unpaved road and is pretty uninteresting and a slow continuous decent.

Once on the trail it has fantastic views of Waimea canyon. Steep ledges with some slick footing at times due to small rocks and loose dirt on the trail. I removed the "waterfall" tag as even though it does go to Waipoo Falls it is a disappointment for anyone wanting a waterfall hike. You arrive at the top of the falls and the biggest observable waterfall is about 10 feet. Listed as having scenic and breathtaking views of the canyon instead of a waterfall is more accurate and won't be a disappointment.

A nice quick hike at the end of the day. If you time it right you can watch the sunset as you drive back to the main highway or leave a little early and you can see the sun set at Kekaha beach.
