Road to trail is closed roughly 3 miles from trailhead.

Good for a local front range trail.. some hard packed snow near panorama.

Still my favorite hike in The Front Range even though it’s gotten more crowded over the past year. Did the hike on 7:14 and beautiful wildflowers all around the lakes! (There are three easily accessible! Don’t miss the first to the left behind the trees)

This is a great trail, only thing missing is an Alpine Lake. There are a couple creek crossings for dogs, though. It is steep in a couple spots (the beginning isn’t the hardest, that comes later) so be aware. It’s also mostly exposed so I would recommend doing this early in the day. Definitely go past the cabin on the left to the bowl for amazing views. My GPS at the bowl read 4.1m.

Hiked 4/21. Broke fresh trail as it had snowed about 5 inches overnight. Definitely needed snowshoes for the top 1/3. This trail is far more beautiful covered in snow than in the summer time, so get it while you can!

Great hike, majority of it is pretty flat through trees and meadows, with a couple moderate inclines towards the end. More people than this page led me to expect, but not too bad. We parked at the main Brainard lot right next to Brainard lake and walked over to the trailhead. Out and back from the car was 8 miles.

Saw a moose hiding in the trees, which seems to relatively common up there! Lake Isabelle is a pretty big alpine lake, with gorgeous clarity
