Paige Cattledog reviewed Mule Deer, Coyote, and Elk Trails

Gorgeous day for a hike. No thunderstorm in the forecast, we started out the Mule Deer trail about 4pm after getting the new annual pass at the visitor center. We thought that it was the 3.4 mile out and back trail as said in the description (actually it says "loop trail.") After 1.7 miles, all the sudden the Alltrail map expanded and indicated that the Mule Deer trail would continue further more. And then a family informed us that they would try to go to Frazer Point, which is about 1 mile away. So we decided to go to the Frazer point. The trail was so beautiful thanks to the weather. Cool breeze, vivid green, bright blue sky, aspens, rocky mountains - just perfect. And the story about John Frazer on the post was very interesting as well. There was one continuous ascending point, but before that and after that were relatively flat. Glad to make it to the Frazer Point.
How can you make the loop trail connecting three different trails?

Paige Cattledog reviewed Mount Sanitas via Goat Trail

When we got to the Goat Trailhead, we saw so many "first responders." We just thought they were there for training. Goat trail was steep, and could be very slippery if you do not have a good pair of hiking shoes. With the inflexible ankle that led to poor balance, there were so many risky areas. I gave up at 2/3 of the way to the top. Later I found out that a person fell 700 ft on the Goat Trail just before our arrival at the trailhead.

Paige Cattledog reviewed Amphitheater and Saddle Rock Loop

I avoid Chattaqua area but somehow my GPS took me here when I was planning up to take another trail up in the Flagstaff. The trail went straight up until it intersected Saddle Rock trail. The trails are maintained well except for a couple of spots where the footing was not great. Also, there were only one log and the broken wood across the stream. I let my dog find a better place to cross the stream. And I was grateful for my waterproof hiking shoes.
