Eric Stewart reviewed San Antonio River Walk Mission Reach Trail

The Riverwalk is geared towards tourism, and in the process much of the historical aspect is overlooked. You can definitely still find interesting history here, but the overwhelming push here is dining and shopping. Having said that, the Riverwalk is a must when visiting San Antonio.

Not much to see until the suspension bridge and the Drift Creek Falls. Very easy trail to navigate. Also this trail gets heavy use, so if you're looking for solitude, this isn't the place to go. The view of the falls from the suspension bridge is spectacular.

Excellent hike to Three Fingered Jack. This hike pretty much has it all! Lakes, open meadows, views, and a waterfall. It was a great little hike!

My wife and I did this hike about 2 years ago when our son and our daughter-in law were stationed at Ft. Riley. It was an ok hike/ walk with the family and dogs. Living in the Pacific Northwest, it's a little unfair to compare this trail to those of say Oregon or Washington. The Republican River is a nice river that looks like it would be a blast to kayak on though.

My wife and I did this hike many moons ago. Would do it again. The excellent views and the lighthouse are the treat at the end.

Nothing too spectacular. I've done this hike a couple of times several years ago. It's a basalt column that rises 600 ft. with a bunch of switchbacks. One thing to note here is that Lewis and Clark mentioned Beacon Rock in one of their daily journals.

Hiked this trail a few years ago. For pictures and my full review, please visit The Washington Trails Association website (WTA.org). All I can say is make your way to the top for an absolutely stunning view of 5 mountain peaks of the Cascade Range.... You will not be disappointed.

Eric Stewart reviewed Little Huckleberry Trail

Did this hike a few years ago. Please see my pictures and review on the Washington Trails Association web page (WTA.org). This hike isn't as difficult as some have stated here. If you go, the prize is the 360 degree view from an old fire lookout. The foundation for the lookout still remains. Mt Rainier, Mt Adams, Mt Saint Helens, and Mt. Hood are all visible from this amazing hike! Plus on the way up, you have a stunning view of the Big Lava Bed and a formation referred to as the Wart. All in all, an awesome jam packed hike, but you must make it to the summit for the 360 vista prize!

Eric Stewart reviewed South Silver Falls at Silver Falls State Park

Nice easy hike with our dogs Thunder and Ukiah. We took the Rim Trail which is pretty much the only trail at Silver Falls State Park that allows pets. We started at the South Falls and worked our way to the Stone Circle. From there, we took the Rim Trail. The Rim trail is ok not much to see until you reach the Upper North Falls trail. At the junction, leave the Rim Trail and hike .2 miles on the Upper North Falls trail until you reach your destination. If you take the Rim Trail, the Upper North Falls is the prize at the end. Nice view of the falls! It was a warm summer day so there were a lot of hikers coming and going.

I enjoyed the dog park and the walk with the dogs. Trails are mainly asphalt and pretty much level all the way around. There are three parking areas to use. Biking is also an option as well.
