A couple good views, some forest, some meadows due to fires. Seems like a better biking trail. I picked up quite a lot of trash at the trailhead. Trail is hard to follow without using downloaded map. I probably won’t do it again.

5/23 Couldn’t make it to the very end but the views are awesome. I will definitely be back in a month. With that being said there was a lot of trash along the hike, I collected as much as I could. After the first mile, on your left, there is a small clearing when you can see the river there is a ton of metallic confetti caught in the grasses. Spent an hour trying to get most of it. Help me out if you go on the trail and try and collect it so it doesn’t end up in our rivers or wildlife. Also plenty of people leaving there dog poop bags along the trail.

5/22 great workout, good views, easy trail to follow. Lots of wild flowers. Too many people on the trail...even on a Tuesday. I went clockwise. Also plenty of trash (collected everything I saw), and dog poop bags. Instagram ec_boyd

5/16. Awesome hike with great views. Could only reach lower Chicago lake, still too much snow for upper. Although some hikers went all the way up. Reservoir is also beautiful but worth the hike all the way to the top. Once you pass upper Chicago lake it, the trail continues to Summit Lake and then continues to the summit of Mt. Evans. Waterproof shoes a must. Instagram ec_boyd

May 15. Very little snow; less than 1% left on the top part of the trail. You must hike until the end...the views are beautiful. Great place to have lunch. First 3.5 miles are all up hill. Enjoy. Instagram ec_boyd
