Hike was great, started at 5am to make sure we had plenty of time and we wanted to finish the first 4 miles while there was minimal heat. Got to the sub dome around 10 which was perfect. 24 min up the cables, 28 min down to be exact. My advice is to bring a 3 liter pack and either bring a bunch of extra water or a filter/pump you can refill at little Yosemite valley. Also, we saw 2 bears about 1 mile before sub dome which was pretty cool. We had one weaker hiker and you have to be honest with yourself about how long you will be out on the trail with regards to how much water you will need. Because we had a pump we had an endless supply and relaxed in the creek on the way back. For the cables you definitely need gloves, but there are gloves up there. Coming down the cables I went backwards and loved that because heights bug me; 3 other people in my group when forward but they swore by that. Fun fun day. Oh, there was no one checking permits anywhere on the trail either, it was a Thursday. 3 years ago when I went on a Wed there was though.

Trail was great, left at 11am which made for a rather hot hike but not strenuous. Definitely recommend this hike. You will also need a 5$ adventure pass that we picked up at the beer/wine store in Fawnskin about a half mile up the road. Only saw about 8 hikers on the entire trail but it was a Tuesday.
