Loved this hike! Steep right away till you hit the ridge with a few short level(ish) spots on the way up. Amazing views from the ridge, gorgeous all the way along. Go all the way to the end for a tiny scramble to the highest point and more amazing views beyond. Will be back for sure! One thing to note, I read in a blog post that there was the "new trail" which you follow to the left, and the "old trail" to the right. I think we wound up on the old one on the way down because it was a bit steeper and had some small rock ledges to climb down which we definitely didn't encounter on our way up. Nothing crazy though, and made for a more interesting descent in the end. 4 Stars only because I would have liked it more if it was longer and a bit more challenging. I would rate it more moderate than hard.

Elizabeth Mascis reviewed Rawson Lake Trail to Sarrail Ridge

Loved this hike! A good challenge since the hike up the ridge is really steep but it's totally worth it once you get to the ridge. It was smoky so will have to go back for the views but it was still absolutely beautiful and with the quick elevation gain it gives that sense of accomplishment. Head to the far end of the ridge and you can do another little climb up to the flag -not sure if the flag is new as this was my first time up there. Climbing to the ridge and back down again was a challenge for us since the dirt was dry and made footing a bit precarious at times with all the loose rocks -for me poles were a must but I saw lots of people getting by without. My friend and I are slow and steady when it come to hiking and it took us 6 hours total, 4 hours of moving time and 2 hours total for breaks. No real breaks on the path up to Rawson, but lots on our way up the ridge and a long one up top since it was so beautiful.

Elizabeth Mascis reviewed Windtower Trail via West Wind Pass

I really loved this hike! Continuous uphill off the bat through forest and along the side of the mountain with great views behind of the lakes. Opens up at the pass and that's where the wind really starts. This is nothing compared to the wind at the top. Seriously, bring a windbreaker, hat and gloves, my fingers were numb after a few minutes at the top.
The trail from the pass opens up and becomes rocky and there are some small cliff bands to get over but nothing crazy (I'm pretty new to hiking and had no problem). Follow the inukshuks almost to the top. Gorgeous views all the way up and the best at the top. The wind almost knocked me off my feet a few times and made the last push to the summit a challenge on already tired leg. Nevertheless it was well worth every step. We even crossed paths with some big horn sheep on the way down.
