Eliska Vrbova reviewed Hex Mountain Trail

Nice trail, difficulty was higher than expected, looks easier on paper. Once reached the peak, I decided to make this a loop by continuing onto the ridge and down the other side of the valley. On the map there is a connector trail over the creek. Unfortunately there is no such trail and I had to continue through the bike park onto the main road and loop back from there. If you don't mind 17k distance, it was actually a nice loop. Just don't expect to be able to meet the beginning of the trail up like I did. June 3rd 2018

Hard but fun trail - I grinned the whole way up. Decided to do this after a failed attempt on Defiance on June 2nd where I had to turn back 300m from the peak due to snow conditions. This was a great replacement and I got to see Defiance too. Impressed with the dog owners who all do leash their dogs on this hard trail.

Loved the trail to the lake and it was all good until hitting the snow just 20 mins after leaving the lakeside. Continued from there on spikes, but jít a steep slope of snow, which in the warm.weather didn't seem too stable. Had to turn around cca 300m (elevation) shy of the peak. Went back and did Bandera instead. Would want to come back and attempt again, looks beautiful.

Eliska Vrbova reviewed Lindeman and Greendrop Lakes Trail

Nice hike, the steepest part right at the beginning. If boulders are your thing, you will have fun:) some campers at both lakes on a weekday, unfortunately making fire and leaving trash/food around.

Lindeman lake is much more beautiful and I wouldn't continue to Greendrop a second time, unless I wanted the workout. View is not all that. Would love to have looped back via Flora but reviews of poor trail put me off.

Beautiful hike past some nice waterfalls, few people on a weekday morning. Poles came in handy. Lake is only part frozen as of June 5th but plenty snow on the loop trail around the lake. Didn't complete the loop and came back as the melting snow didn't seem.like it would hold me up anymore. Don't miss the lookouta on the falls

Fun little hike for a couple of hours. Too many people with unleashed dogs though.

Great hike, sadly despite the sunny forecast I never made it through the cloud cover on June 4th morning, and was hit by freezing rain once I made it to Teneriffe. Glad I always pack all weather gear :) original plan to continue onto the loop to mt. si was abandoned when the weather was still sketchy once I was by the connector. Quickly cleared up about 30 minutes later but I was already far too low to climb back up. In the humid, foggy weather, the steep trail to Teneriffe kicked my behind. Took about 2,5 h to get up on top.

Didn't encounter snow on top but beware that All trails map and actual trail at the top of the mountain and down the logging road differ. Just follow the well traveled path you will find there and don't mind alltrails trying to take you on a journey over the logs :)

Tried accessing trailhead today, no luck. I had to turn around after about 1k from the main road when road got too sketchy for my rental 4WD. DId see a larger truck coming down the forest service road though so someone made it further.

Great trail with a steady incline, no scrambling. Have to cross a few streams this time of the year. Above the lake still snow, didnt unpack my spikes and did OK (counterclockwise), beware of the chutes though! Fork to head down to lake from the top point is hard to find, just head down and you will meet the bottom trail.

Didn't know it was a $5 hoarse, bring change.

Done today. Started at 7.30am, back by 10.30. Tiny patches of snow on the top of the trail a one wider field by the lake. No need for equipment. Lots of ppl with dogs going up when I was descending, unfortunately not all leashed or well behaved. Trail well visible nice waterfalls on the way this time of the year, lost reception about halfway up.

What I didn't know it's a $5 charge so bring change or cheese.

Did this on a hot afternoon in June and struggled. I consider myself an experienced hiker and able to take on a lot, but here I felt stretched. I carried plenty water but there simply is no shade on the trail so I didn get a nice workout but left completely exhausted. Next time I'll go early in the morning :)

I did this hike right after Angel's landing. It's beautiful hike but I started out late, around 9.30 am so did the cliemb in high heat. In warm months, bring extra water. I had 3 litres and drank it all. View on top is amazing. Saw people with kids do the hike so even though it can be tough going, it is doable.

On the way down I met a lot of people carying nothing but a small bottle of water, no head cover etc. I would advise to go properly equipped as there truly is almost no shade and no water sources along the way.

Loved this hike! take the first shuttle if you can and go early. You will still hike with people but will have a much more serene experience and easier hike down when you won't have to stumble over masses of people.

I like challenging hikes and this was just that. went in June and weather was great early in the morning.

I have vertigo so I was very worried about the exposed sections, but in the end it is not as extreme as I expected and i distracted myself by taking loads of pictures :)
