hiked this with my family last spring. Uphill out, downhill back. Wasn't super challenging for the kids. Would do it again for sure.

did this with my wife, mother and a 6 and 2 year old. My mom isn't much of a hiker so she thought it was long but it isn't. LOL. Its a pretty easy trail, the waterfall at the end is clearly the main attraction and the perspective from the bottom is spectacular. Good family hike.

I ran this trail along with some branch offs and other trails at Great Seal for a total of 18.5 miles and over 3600ft of gain as a training run for world's toughest mudder. A friend who runs 100 mile ultras took me along his route. It was as good of a training run as you can do. I highly recommend this for anyone with trail running goals.

I run this trail all the time for training for OCR events. It is usually pretty muddy after a rain and that is exactly what I'm after. I've ran it in the snow as well and I continue to loop it all repeatedly.

I've ran this and biked this many times. Great for a hybrid bike being a groomed gravel trail. The same reason makes it good for a run although it can be windy.

I've ran this trail many times and have hiked it with kids as well. Good trail.

I run this trail often. Not a crazy amount of elevation gain but it has its share of ups and downs as well as variable surfaces. I enjoy it.

we've hiked this as a family many times while camping near Loudenville. We've taken dogs on it, our young kids and have never had an issue. Looking forward to running it soon.

did some running on this last weekend with a good friend. Hardly anyone on it before 8:00AM so it was perfect. loved it, can't wait to run the Rugged Red in September.

hiked this trail last summer with wife and kids(3,6). My 6 year old is kind of awesome so she led the way while I carried my 3 year old in my carrier and wife carried lunch and beverages. It was not crowded but there were people on the trail, some light scrambling, and great views at the top. Did some kayaking on Echo lake after that. It was a great day.

we were on a cruise in 2011 and decided to try this on a whim. We were scheduled to zipline but that excursion got cancelled. We saw a tour guide and asked about hiking and she said how hard of a hike do we want and we said bring it. Because of the small time frame she hooked us up with a tour guide who drove us to and from the volcano from the ship terminal and hiked it with us to ensure we paced fast enough to get up and down in time to get back to cruise ship. If you are not in shape, do not do this trail. It is straight up. I'm in great shape and was definitely worn out by the end. Wait until you get to the top and have to shimmy out on a ledge to see into the caldera...not for the faint of heart. LOL. Would love to do this again.

did this wife my wife and 4 year old in a carrier. Did the scramble and finishing sections solo as there was no way to safely take daughter in carrier up the scramble. One of the most rewarding hikes I've ever done. Highly recommend it.

Took my wife and kids(1, 4) on this trail. We used carriers for both kids and were fine with that. The 4 year old walked at points. It was busy, but we didn't mind. Great views along the way.

I've done this trail too many times to count. I love it. We take kids, dogs and out of towners there multiple times a season. It doesn't get old.

Hiked this trail with wife and kids, had my tank of a 2 year old in my carrier. We did the steps up and the loop down. My legs were burning but I enjoyed it tremendously. Amazing staircase really.

did this trail with my family a couple of summers ago carrying a 2 year old in a carrier and let my 5 year old lead the way. She's fast. Its pretty much straight up so don't expect easy but it isn't long. The views are outstanding at the top.

did this trail with my wife and dogs a few years ago. I enjoyed the massive rhododendron near the start. It was a great trail. Although the AT section was busy on that Saturday the Freeman trail loop on the way back was almost empty. Very peaceful and the views from the top were awesome. Will be back for sure, love this entire area.

did this quick trail with the family. A few tricky areas to watch the kids on ut other than that pretty easy and right down the road from one of our favorite campgrounds.

did this quick hike with my wife and kids. Had my son in my Osprey carrier. Fairly easy hike for experienced hikers. It is however straight up a hill so don't be fooled that since it is paved it is easy. It is generally crowded at the parking lot so go early or you will wait to park.

Did this in the rain first thing in the morning last spring. It was great, I enjoyed the workout as it was cold and it kept me warm, especially the last mile or so. Temps were in the mid to high 30s. The old growth is a sight to see, those trees are massive. I would put this at near the top of hikes I've done. I'll be back.
