Pretty well maintained trail with nice lookouts. Blazes could be cleaned up a bit. The local kids have painted the rocks, which is a shame. There is some highway noise from I-395 which does take away from it a bit. Terrain varies and changes quickly, so do won't get bored.

Nicely maintained and well blazed loop. The elevation gain is minimal so this hike is great for kids wanting something a little longer. Old settlement ruins are cool along with lean to's I'm guessing made by nature center trips.

One of the best hikes in NH. Not for beginners! Make sure you check high peaks forecast before climbing. There are good views everywhere. Falling Waters trail on the way up has nice waterfalls. The exposed ridge gives you views in all directions. Old bridle path on the way down gives you a chance to stop at the AMC Greenleaf Hut for a rest and refill on water.

Very humid August day and rocks were a little slick. Short scrambles over low glacier ridges were a nice mix in, even having to lift the dog up onto some. Canopy covers well and there is minimal sun. If your into mushrooms....this is a good trail for you. The Orange circle trail on the way back cuts through some large boulders which kids would love.
