This is a great trail. Use the east side of the loop when ascending. You'll want to linger at the ledges, where the view is much better, rather than at the summit. The climb is mild and great for younger kids. You could descend the east loop without summiting and it would be a great family hike.

Slight descent from the ledges and then a steeper ascent to the summit. The descent on the west loop is very steep. Look for a nice view of mt Washington as you descend.

All in all the view is fantastic for the rather moderate effort.

This is a great trail. I would call it strenuous with several miles of steady climbing and then descending. The views are nothing short of spectacular. Well trafficked on weekends but mostly with serious hikers.

    Highly recommended.

Did this trail with a friend for her first summit.

Starts moderately with a stream crossing. Then climbs gently for a while before a steeper incline to a nice view. After another incline there's some scrambling to the top.

This hike offers outstanding views for the relatively short mileage.

Definitely recommend this hike for all skill levels.

A beautiful place. A nice loop through varied terrain along great bay. Beautiful views and a nice breeze even on hot days. In early August there's a bumper crop of wild blackberries.

The only downside is poison ivy growth that can only be described as an infestation.

Nice trail along the river. There are some large boulders (house sized) to scramble on.
