Danielle Carlson reviewed Bluebird Hiking Trail

The hike is an out and back, so it is not as interesting as other trails. However, it was still beautiful and a nice hike to do.

I've done this hike almost every year since childhood. It's been a few years now but I'm coming back this summer and I plan on going again!!! Both hikes are just gorgeous and well worth it! Especially because we always saw wildlife.

I did this hike when I was about 12 and I LOVED it! I definitely plan on doing it again next time I go! The falls at the end of the hike are worth it!

I just hiked this on Valentine's Day and it was very worth it! You park at the campground across the street and you can see the trailhead from the entrance to the campground. It's $8 for the day. You can see the damage from the fire while hiking, but the views are beautiful nonetheless. If you aren't a for hiker then this trail will take a while for you to get up but, man, is it worth it! I came early in the morning so I didn't see a lot of people and the hike up wasn't too hot. When I got to the top I actually had it to myself for a few minutes, which was awesome! The views are AMAZING!!! The hike down took half the time that the hike up did. I will definitely be coming back with friends next time!

Hidden Valley Road is just that: a road. It is a large, wide dirt path that many different trails intersect or spawn from, and it pretty much cuts through the center of the plateau. It has no shade and can be baking hot in the summer months so he prepared! But if you are looking for a leisurely walk on the plateau then Hidden Valley Road is a good choice! It has some very beautiful views of the hills and ends by the adobes.

I hike at the Santa Rosa Plateau every week, and I always start out on the Coyote trail. I've started in the Hidden Valley Road before, but this trail is just much more satisfying for beginning a hike! The little hill in the beginning is a nice mini warmup and then you get some nice views. The other day there was a small aircraft doing tricks over the plateau and I got the perfect view on this trail! Every time I have come back to the parking lot using this trail after the sun has set I always hear coyotes. So, this trail loves up to its name! There is no shade, so it can get hot in the summer months.

I hike the Santa Rosa Plateau every week and the Adobe loop trail, though short, is one of my favorites!! His trail takes you by a little creek and into an oak grove. It is the perfect trail to get out of the sun if you are hiking in the summer months. At one point the trail intersects with the Punta Mesa trail so you could either take the left onto that trail (which is much longer than the Adobe loop and much hotter) or Turk right and continue on the Adobe loop trail. Right before this intersection is a steep part so take your time if you aren't fit! I highly recommend this trail! Very scenic!

I hike at the Santa Rosa Plateau every week and this is my absolute favorite trail on the plateau! It has gorgeous views, especially in the spring time. This trail takes you out the farthest into "the middle of nowhere" that you can get with the hiking trails on the plateau and I highly recommend it for those who want to really get into the wilderness. Each time I have hiked the trail I haven't seen another soul. If you are hiking it in the summer, beware, because it is a long trail and parts of it are hot with only a little shade. I highly recommend this trail!

I hike at the Santa Rosa Plateau every single week and the Los Santos trail is absolutely one of my favorite trails on the plateau. It is 't one of the longest but it is definitely one of the steepest, and you get some absolutely beautiful views on the way up! I recommend sitting at the bench near the top of the trail and enjoying the view of the plateau!
