My intentions were to complete the 3 miles hike to the falls. I failed to read the map correctly and 13 miles later I made it back to the car dying. Haha The falls are gorgeous though and the different loops were beautiful. some areas on the egret and South loops are damaged from storms but someone was kind enough to leave wood to walk on. beautiful place I just need to read maps better! lots of nature.

Beautiful and breathtaking. It's easy to walk it for hours I would recommend it to anyone visiting Mendocino.

This place is pretty cool! Took the advice of others and parked at the cemetery and it's a short hike from there to the actual blowhole. During my time there was very little water in it tides would roll in and then out but it was beautiful. Be careful of poison oak and stay on the trail. I did not see any ropes or anyway down to the punchbowl so it must of been removed, it's a site to see for sure though.

Danielle Craig reviewed Schooner Gulch & Bowling Ball Beaches

This hike is very tricky. When you park on 1 you see a sign that shows the bowling ball beach info and you go down that trail which is pretty wild. Lots of driftwood, bushes etc. if you go down this trail it is actually the wrong one and you will end up on a secluded beach with a stream, it's pretty but no bowling balls. The trail to the bowling balls is actually back to the very beginning of the parking area and it goes through a meadow first then into the steep parts. There are stairs and rope to go down but it was a bit intimidating. Fun adventure!
