Daniela Zuniga reviewed Lake Blanche Trail

Such a beautiful hike! It's definitely strenuous but not nearly as intimidating as it seems through all the ratings. I'm pretty new to hiking, just started last year. This is the first "hard" rated trail besides Bells Canyon trail that I've done. I was on the trail at 9:30 am and was back by 1:30 pm. Included 30 minutes at the top to eat a snack and enjoy the view. I stopped several times on the trail for short breaks as it's definitely a heart-pumping trail. Pretty steep and rocky, I'm a pretty slow hiker so I took my time and gave myself enough breaks but like I said, I'm a beginner and this trail was pretty doable.
I saw 15+ groups while I was on the trail which surprised me for a weekday morning so I can only imagine how busy it is during the weekend. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Adding this to my favorites and have to do it soon again! I wish I had more time at the top to explore because there's so much to see. So budget enough time to enjoy everything.

Most of the trail is iced over, microspikes needed. Saw a few people turn back because it was too icy.
The beginning of the trail is so-so and not very exciting. After about .7 miles, it starts getting tougher but also more beautiful scenery. This is my first time on this trail but I have to come back in the spring/summer because it seems like it’d be beautiful. Most of the trail is moderate, only the last .5ish miles are hard. Very steep towards the end. Also very rewarding.

Did this hike 12/28/17. The entire trail was packed snow with some icy spots. Trail crampons or microspikes highly recommended although I did see one person without it. Ran into about a dozen people so a fairly busy trail, even on a weekday.
Highly recommend this hike, it can be "easy" if done at as slower pace since it's a small incline but if you keep a good pace it is definitely moderate. Great view at the end.

Very pretty hike! Obviously it differs with experience and personal fitness, but for me, this hike should be "hard". I tend to go on "moderate" hikes from AllTrails and although they're challenging, they are very doable and I can usually go without any breaks. This trail had me huffing and puffing the entire way and I had to take constant breaks. It is is very very steep the whole way up. Very rocky terrain and you have to cross some creeks so be prepared to get your shoes a little muddy. We are beginner hikers so we took our time getting up to the falls, however the scenery was fanstastic. We had a hard time finding the falls and got a bit lost so here is how you get to a beautiful overlook that gives you a great spot to enjoy the falls:
There is only one mile marker towards the end of the hike Both arrows point to the right for another trail. You want to go left. Keep going up for about 5-10 min, and you will come up to a steep downhill trail on your left. Slide down that small trail and keep going for another 10 minutes. You will cross various small streams and eventually get to the falls.
We are both beginners so this trial was definitely "hard" for us. So if you're not very expereinced, keep that in mind and give yourself the time to get there. The falls at the end are fantastic and worth the challenge.

Hiked this for the first time today and I loved it. It's a steady uphill hike that is very manageable for beginners. Went around 4 pm and it was busy.
